Position Summary
The Physical Security Systems Specialist will serve in a critical role on the Illumina Global Security Team, providing broad support to the team and helping to manage security systems and security related systems projects.
This role is based at Illumina NorthTech Building in Singapore. The scope of the position is both global and site-specific in nature with involvement in projects that impact the global platforms. The Physical Security Systems Specialist will report to the Sr. Manager of Global Security Systems and Technology and will focus on security systems repair & maintenance, regional planning and oversight of systems projects, installation of new security devices, developing and streamlining internal processes while collaborating closely with stakeholders, including the Global Security Regional Operations team, Global Information Systems team and APAC Facilities team.
The successful candidate will be a high-energy team player who is eager to learn and develop, and able to support multiple or competing priorities within the Security organization. A desire to technologically advance the department, strong cross-functional collaboration, and project coordination skills are a must. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication skills, the ability to work in a matrixed environment, and a results-oriented perspective.
Position Responsibilities
- Maintain regional physical access control and video recording systems, visitor management, mass notification, and other security related systems.
- Provide relevant technical support to security systems issues in the region, including troubleshooting and completing basic repairs for systems related break / fix tickets, up to at least Tier 2 level of support.
- Achieve timely and cost-effective completion of security system installations through effective communication and problem-solving, collaborating with multidisciplinary internal and external stakeholders and efficiently using resources necessary to complete multiple projects simultaneously.
- Undertake and/ or oversee procurement/RFP processes for corresponding works and projects, and make recommendations to leadership for contract award and approval of technical specifications.
- Define global, scalable processes to mature the security systems infrastructure of the company
- Maintain the established development environment for Security Systems applications, testing software (including upgrades) and hardware prior to deployment into production
- Develop security systems analytics to provide senior leadership with digestible and actionable data
- Ensure compliance of security systems and protocols to policies and alignment to established standards, notably in the handling of proprietary and/or sensitive data and the selection of hardware and software to be deployed and managed within the enterprise environment
- Ensure implementations meet certification requirements as dictated by relevant business units (including but not limited to ISO/HIPAA/GDPR as applicable within policy and regional requirement)
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Engineering, IT, Security Management or related fields, with 4-6 years relevant experience in the security services industry. Candidates with related Diploma and substantial relevant work experience may also be considered.
- 2 years of experience in project management, with previous experience using or administering enterprise security systems (e.g. Lenel, Milestone, etc.)
- Working understanding of IT systems and//or network infrastructure with an understanding of database administration or Software as a Service (SAAS) experience
- Understanding of security design considerations and standards, and the operations of security technology hardware
- Computer literate with proficiency in Word, Excel, and familiar with project management associated tools (e.g. Asana, Jira, Smartsheet, Confluence) and data analytics tool (e.g. Tableau)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail oriented with a high sense of urgency
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work odd hours as needed due to situational or project requirement
- Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
- Lenel Certified Professional (LCP) or equivalent
- Milestone Technical Configuration Level 2 or equivalent
- Physical Security Professional (PSP)
- Advanced understanding of IT infrastructure and optimization
