The Principal Enterprise Architect will lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and secure wealth management SaaS products. This role involves providing technical leadership and guidance to engineering and product teams. Key responsibilities include drafting architectural practices, ensuring technical strategic alignment with business objectives, mentoring and training engineers, identifying and resolving structural or organizational blockers and technical debt. The role requires expertise in cloud platforms (AWS preferred), strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and SaaS component services. They will also define technology roadmaps, architect SaaS applications, evaluate technologies, ensure security, scalability and efficiency of solutions, and collaborate with stakeholders. The compensation is between $203,000 to $318,000 as base salary plus bonus, equity and benefits.

The Role

Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and secure wealth management SaaS products by providing technical leadership and guidance to engineering and product teams. Draft and champion strong architectural practices; use them to ensure technical strategic alignment with business objectives as well as to mentor and train engineers and SaaS architects.  Identify structural or organizational blockers and technical debt in order to propose and drive solutions.

Addepar takes a market-based approach to pay. A successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on the role, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base salary for roles in Colorado, California, and New York.

The current range for this role is $203,000 - $318,000 (Base Salary) + bonus + equity + benefits.

What You’ll Do

  • Define technology roadmaps and architectural standards; drive adoption across Addepar.
  • Design and architect our SaaS applications as part of Addepar R&D.
  • Proactively identify, prioritize and propose remediation for tech debt.
  • Mentor and guide software engineers and architects on best practices.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and frameworks.
  • Ensure the security, scalability and efficiency of our SaaS solutions.
  • Collaborate with product management and business stakeholders.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure code quality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development.
  • 5+ years of experience in SaaS architecture.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong internet and internal networking experience.
  • Strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and SaaS component services.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
