PikPok is New Zealand’s oldest and largest video game developer and publisher. We established our Medellín studio by acquiring Wizard Fun Factory, one of the oldest studios in the city. About the role:

We are looking for a junior tester who understands project contexts, takes an active role in planning and executing project goals and features, is self-managed, and applies critical thinking to resolve roadblocks or issues. We want someone with a mature and professional attitude who knows how to work with people and is thorough in identifying and reporting detailed bugs. We welcome applications from diverse candidates and those with various backgrounds, skills, and experiences.

The Junior QA Tester’s responsibilities include:

  • Analyze, design, and propose test plans to ensure that a systematic and comprehensive functional conformance test is achieved.
  • Perform extensive testing of games to identify and document errors, performance issues and bugs.
  • Keeping the team informed about the progress of the tests.
  • Collaborate with the development team to understand game functionality and requirements.
  • Provide feedback on gameplay, balance, and other aspects of game design.
  • Actively participate in agile debates and rituals.
  • Effectively listen and assimilate comments, guidance, and instructions.
  • Actively contribute to company objectives, strategy, and culture.

Requirements

The Junior QA Tester’s required knowledge and experience should include:

  • The ability to work smoothly with international colleagues and teams, respect cultural differences, and readily exchange learning.
  • Minimum B2 English, with good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ideally 6 months experience in software testing.
  • Ideally, a bachelor's degree in a related career (e.g., engineering in digital entertainment, systems engineering, engineering related to technology).
  • Knowledge of software testing, either through formal studies or practical experience.
  • Ability to document and communicate problems clearly and concisely.
  • Ideally, experience working with bug-tracking tools (e.g. JIRA, Bugzilla, etc.)
  • Attention to detail and ability to concentrate on one task at a time.
  • Responsibility and efficiency when completing work tasks.
  • Curiosity and desire to learn new skills.

Other desirable knowledges

  • Basic knowledge of software programming
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks.
  • Interest in video games.
