Job Details
About the job
- Liaising with concept artists and animators about the physical attributes and movements of characters.
- Drawing character sketches showing key movements.
- Articulating characters within environments, layouts and backgrounds.
- Creating joints and moving points to rotate and pivot. Designing, testing and maintaining character set ups.
- Ensuring character movements are fluid, free of glitches and believable.
- Writing MEL scripts to customize software to specific animation requirements.
- Developing tools and plug-ins to optimize animation.
- Testing rigs and ensuring they hold up in animation.
- Solid knowledge of human and animal anatomy.
- Skills in facial animation preferably.
- Strong mastering of MAYA rigging tools especially for the creation of joints and skeletons, skinning and weighting, IK configuration, blend shapes and deformers, nodes dependency.
- Ability to articulate emotion through character facial and physical expression. Ability to create character gait, walk and body language.
- Highly organized, ability to work methodically.
