Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Azure Infrastructure Engineer with a deep understanding of microservices architecture. You will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure solutions on Microsoft Azure. Your role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth deployment, discovery, and communication of microservices while safeguarding internal services from external threats.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop infrastructure architectures for new microservices-based applications on Azure, leveraging services like Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Container Instances (ACI), and Azure Functions.
- Create scalable and resilient infrastructure designs using Azure IaaS services.
- Architect solutions to separate public-facing microservices from internal services using Azure services like Azure Application Gateway, Azure Firewall, and Azure Private Link.
- Implement security measures such as Network Security Groups (NSGs), Azure VPN Gateway, and Azure ExpressRoute to ensure internal services are not exposed to the internet.
- Use Azure API Management to manage and secure traffic between public and private services.
- Diagnose and mitigate potential causes of API timeouts using Azure Monitor and Azure Application Insights to monitor and analyze performance issues such as network latency or service overload.
- Implement retries, circuit breakers, and rate limiting with Azure API Management and Azure Logic Apps to handle API timeouts and maintain service resilience.
- Design highly available services using Azure's global infrastructure, including multi-zone or multi-region deployments with Azure Availability Zones and Azure Traffic Manager.
- Utilize Azure Load Balancer, Azure Front Door, and Azure Auto-Scaling to ensure continuous service availability and minimize downtime.
- Implement disaster recovery and backup strategies using Azure Site Recovery and Azure Backup to protect against data loss and ensure business continuity.
Requirements
- 5-8 years in Azure DevOps and cloud infrastructure management.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure (Virtual Networks, Load Balancers, Storage Accounts, Traffic Manager).
- Strong knowledge of Azure services and cloud-native tools, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, and Azure API Management.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, ARM templates).
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Proven experience with large-scale applications, focusing on efficient and reliable deployment and management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Preferred Qualifications:
Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
Experience with Kubernetes and containerization.
Knowledge of monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights).
Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools (Jira).
