Senior Backend Software Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our team to help design and build a scalable architecture that will run our new mobile UGC social entertainment platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microservice architecture, server-side logic, database management, cloud services, and be passionate about building systems that are secure, efficient, and capable of handling high volumes of concurrent users.

Responsibilities:

• Help design and implement a scalable microservice architecture for our UGC social entertainment platform.

• Write clean, well-documented code in Go for backend services. Develop and maintain APIs to support platform functionality.

• Collaborate with stakeholders and team members to establish a clear path to deliverable milestones.

• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

• Implement data protection and security measures.

• Manage hosting environments, including database administration and scaling applications to handle load changes.

• Keep up to date with industry trends and technology developments.

• Minimum 5+ years of experience working as a software engineer

• Proven experience as a Server Engineer or equivalent role.

• Previous experience building scalable microservice architecture for an application with a large number of concurrent users.

• Strong understanding of server-side languages such as Go, Java, Node.js.

• Deep familiarity with the HTTP protocol and API technologies such as gRPC, REST and OpenAPI.

• Experience with database and caching technologies (i.e. Mongo, Firestore, MySQL, Redis)

• Experience with cloud services such as GCP, AWS or Azure

• Familiar with containerization and deployment technologies such as kubernetes

• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.

Additional Skills:

• Comfort working in a fast-pace, non-hierarchical, startup like environment

• Comfort wearing a number of “hats” and willingness to dive into new technologies.

• Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Experience with security compliance standards relevant to the social media industry.
