Job Description

ByteDance's Global e-commerce Supply Chain Billing & Settlement team is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to develop and maintain critical systems for their international TikTok Shop E-commerce platform. You will be responsible for building highly scalable and secure services for billing, settlement, capital risk control, and optimizing existing systems for data security and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend server development, data structures, algorithms, and experience with databases, caches, and message queues. Preferred experience includes working with financial-related systems like billing, settlement, reconciliation, or profit & loss management.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in CS or related field
Software development experience in Go/Java/C++/C#/Python
Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, networking, data security, and scalable systems design
Expertise in backend server development, databases, caches, and message queues

Good to have:

Experience in financial-related fields like billing, settlement, reconciliation, or profit & loss management

The Supply Chain Billing & Settlement team provides accurate and efficient billing and settlement solutions for the logistics and supply chain, including billing, settlement, reconciliation, payment, profit & loss, etc. Responsibilities: 1. Develop efficient, highly scalable and secured services to build/integrate billing、settlement、 capital risk control systems for domestic and global TikTok Shop E-commerce 2. Optimize backend systems and services for data security, modularity, computational efficiency and scalability. 3. Deliver best-in-class engineering excellence practices across all product engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical background involving software/system engineering 2. Software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages, such as Go/Java/C++/C#/Python, exhibits good code design and coding style. 3. Deep understanding of data structure, algorithm design and analysis, networking, data security and highly scalable systems design. 4. Excellent proficiency in backend server development and familiarity with the principles and applications of databases, caches, and message queues Preferred Qualifications: 1. 【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $187040 - $280000 annually.​
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
