Job Description

Rippling is seeking a Senior Compensation Manager to lead its compensation strategy and programs. This role involves driving core compensation initiatives like market analysis, benchmarking, and equity management, with a particular focus on the evolving India market. The Senior Compensation Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, consult and educate leadership on compensation philosophies and programs, and lead compensation design for R&D India. Responsibilities include program managing communication and change during annual compensation reviews and collaborating with engineering and product teams to enhance Rippling's Compensation app. The goal is to create innovative, data-driven compensation solutions aligned with business objectives.
Must have:
  • 8+ years compensation experience, preferably in tech
  • 3+ years managing a Compensation Program/Department
  • Strong command of compensation fundamentals (market pricing, leveling, equity, etc.)
  • Ability to manage change and influence stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to data validity
  • Team development and feedback skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
Good to have:
  • Experience with US Public company equity or private company equity preparing for IPO

About the role


As a Senior Compensation Manager at Rippling, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our company's compensation strategy. You will drive core compensation programs, serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, and lead compensation design and review projects.

Your expertise will be instrumental in developing a fully featured Compensation tool that empowers Finance, Recruiting, Hiring Managers, Employees, and Candidates. You will collaborate with engineers and product managers to define and deliver innovative compensation solutions that align with our business objectives.

What you will do

  • Drive core compensation programs: market analysis, benchmarking, equity, training, and annual events, ensuring competitive positioning, especially in the evolving India market.
  • Lead APAC compensation: consult and educate leadership, HR business partners and recruiters on our compensation philosophies programs to make decisions that align with our comp philosophy.
  • Lead compensation design for R&D India business group including benchmarking, leveling and creative compensation programs, that help in attracting top talent.
  • Program manage communication and change during annual compensation review cycles and other strategic projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product to define short- and long-term tactics for Rippling Compensation app features, creating a comprehensive tool for all users.

What you will need

  • At least 8 years of compensation-related work experience, preferably within the tech industry, with at least 3 years managing a Compensation Program or Department. Experience with Public company equity in the US (or Private company equity preparing for IPO) preferred.
  • Substantial command of compensation fundamentals: job matching, market pricing, Leveling and Job Architecture, equity mechanics at private and public companies, cyclical programs, etc.
  • Ability to manage change and ambiguity, and influence cross functional stakeholders effectively. Collaborate with diverse teams, communicate complex information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and influence decision-making through data-driven insights and persuasive communication.
  • Prior experience working with large amounts of data, utilizing strong analytical skills to interpret compensation trends and build intelligence through reporting, with high attention to data validity.
  • Team development skills: ability to set a roadmap and goals for a team and every one of its members, delegate intelligently, offer advice, deliver frequent and transparent feedback, work with team members to grow in their careers, and ensure everyone delivers quality results.
  • Excellent communication and presentations skills, with the ability to effectively translate complex compensation concepts/models into digestible plans to the executives.
