The Senior Graphic Fabrication Designer develops signage and show graphics for Disney Theme Parks and Resorts. Responsibilities include overseeing design consultants, coordinating project scopes and budgets, answering vendor questions, supervising installations, preparing facility impact documents, developing fabrication specifications, leading design teams, defining implementation strategies, determining appropriate materials, coordinating with other teams, preparing fabrication specifications, managing project budgets and schedules, and ensuring production quality. The role requires experience in project management, design management, or construction management, along with a strong understanding of graphic design, sign fabrication, and relevant codes.
Must have:

The Senior Graphic Fabrication Designer develops signage and show graphics that help tell the stories in Disney Theme Parks and Resorts worldwide.

You will report to the Manager-Graphic and Fabrication Design.

This is a Full-time role.

What You Will Do:

  • Oversee Design Services consultants as required.

  • Coordinate and develop scopes of work, hard cost budgets and schedules for projects of limited complexity and size.

  • Answer vendor questions during Graphics fabrication bidding process.

  • Supervise Graphics Installation contractors in the field.

  • Prepare Facility impact documents to meet project schedules.

  • Support the development of fabrication specifications.

  • Lead Graphics fabrication design team.

  • Define graphics fabrication design and implementation strategies for assigned projects.

  • Determine appropriate materials and design details for Environmental Graphic design scopes.

  • Facilitate and coordinate with other teams to achieve concurrence with design product and verify facility input is represented appropriately in Facility drawing packages.

  • Prepare fabrication specifications working with the Specifications department.

  • Understand and meet project graphics hard and soft cost budgets and schedules for production and installation of Environmental Graphics.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5 years experience in a project management, design management, or construction management role.

  • 2 years leading a team of designers in the design of environmental graphics/signage and the creation of contract documents for fabrication.

  • Familiarity with BIM standards.

  • Familiarity with documentation vital for developing biddable documents for Graphic Signage.

  • Understanding of Graphic design interface with BIM standards.

  • Proficiency in Sign Fabrication techniques and strategies.

  • Proficient understanding of project Life Cycles.

  • Ability to set standards for project graphics production quality.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to manage and organize project resources.

  • Construction phase experience including the submittal/shop drawing review process and on-site field inspection practice.

  • Proficient technical knowledge of environmental graphic design and sign construction techniques.

  • Proficient understanding of signage code requirements.

  • Knowledge of Environmental Graphic design and sign construction techniques.

  • Technical knowledge of Sign design.

  • Knowledge of related areas, including architecture, interior design, area development, etc.

Education

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited program preferred.
