Major Accountabilities:
Conduct code quality assessments and security reviews to identify and address vulnerabilities and code defects early in the development lifecycle.
Implement and enforce coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines to ensure the integrity and security of software applications and infrastructure.
Utilize infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and CloudFormation to automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure.
Manage and monitor cloud resources on platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including EC2 instances, S3 buckets, Google Cloud Storage, and Google Cloud Functions.
Collaborate with development teams to plan and execute software releases, ensuring that releases are delivered on schedule and meet quality standards.
Implement release automation strategies and tools to streamline the release process and minimize manual intervention.
Respond to and resolve incidents and outages affecting production systems, working closely with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime and impact on users.
Implement monitoring and alerting solutions using tools like Prometheus, Datadog, AWS CloudWatch, and Google Cloud Monitoring to proactively identify and address issues before they escalate.
Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes for software applications and infrastructure components.
Ensure seamless integration of code changes and updates into production environments, reducing deployment times and improving overall release efficiency.
Basic requirements:
Minimum of 7+ years of software engineering experience with an emphasis on data processing systems
Proficiency in at least one programming language used in data engineering (Python, Java, Scala)
Experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and managing resources such as EC2, S3, Google Cloud Storage and Google Cloud Functions
Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Terraform and CloudFormation
Experience in designing, implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge of monitoring and alerting systems (Prometheus, Datadog, AWS CloudWatch, Google Cloud Monitoring)
Experience managing software releases and automating release processes
Ability to conduct code quality assessments and security reviews
Knowledge of coding best practices and security standards
Experience in resolving incidents and failures in production systems
Very good knowledge of English, spoken and written
Ability to cooperate in cross-functional teams
Additional points for:
Cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Engineer)
Experience with container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm)
Knowledge of big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka)
Experience in implementing data security and regulatory compliance solutions (GDPR, HIPAA)
Knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
Experience in mentoring and leading technical teams
