The Senior Specialist, Aftersales Technology Projects will manage high-impact Aftersales technology projects from inception to delivery, ensuring they align with strategic objectives. This role requires managing the full project lifecycle, defining requirements with stakeholders, organizing workshops, developing roadmaps, and utilizing project management tools like Jira and Figma within an Agile environment. The position emphasizes strong backlog management, project documentation, and effective communication with diverse stakeholders.

Overview

As the Senior Specialist, Aftersales Technology Projects you will be managing high-impact Aftersales technology projects. You will be responsible for overseeing the full project lifecycle, from inception to delivery, while ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and align with Scout’s strategic objectives. You possess extensive experience in project management within the automotive industry, with a strong focus on Aftersales. This role reports to the Manager, Aftersales Technology & Solutions.

What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Connect with key internal stakeholders (IT, Aftersales, Digital Products) and external partners, including suppliers and Volkswagen Group entities to define requirements, deliverables, and expectations that align all parties toward common goals.
  • Organize, facilitate, and document workshops and meetings to capture and understand Aftersales requirements, ensuring sessions are productive and result in clear, actionable insights.
  • Manage large-scale, complex projects, by developing detailed roadmaps, timelines, and milestones that ensure timely delivery that meets business requirements.
  • Active participation in IT-organized and led meetings.
  • Utilize project management tools like Jira and Figma within an agile work environment (Scrum, or Kanban) for project execution.
  • Strong background in backlog management, including the ability to identify, document, and prioritize tasks based on business needs and technical feasibility.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive project landscape to track and steer multiple projects simultaneously, providing clear visibility and direction across all initiatives.
  • Create detailed project documentation, including plans, status reports, and post-project evaluations, to ensure all activities are recorded and evaluated for continuous improvement.
  • Identify root causes of project challenges and develop targeted solutions to keep projects on track and meet objectives.
  • Communicate effectively, crafting compelling narratives to influence internal and external stakeholders, as well as various leadership levels.
  • Work independently to drive projects from kickoff to closure in a global and multicultural environment, ensuring all objectives are met and stakeholders are satisfied.
  • Support teams in prioritizing tasks, removing obstacles, and ensuring projects are completed on time and to the required quality standards.

 

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, South Carolina. 
  • The responsibilities of this role require attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly. 
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. PMP, Scrum Master or similar certification is a plus.
  • 8+ years of proven experience in project management within a fast-paced environment, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • German language proficiency is a bonus and will contribute to success in the role.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, with experience applying them effectively to different projects. (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Figma).
  • Proficiency in Figma and experience in using it for project planning and design.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and market conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders and team members.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • A proactive, results-oriented approach with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $120,000.00 - $135,000.00
