Job Description

We're looking for a Software Engineer 3 to join our team and deliver software solutions that impact thousands of students and educators nationwide. This role involves writing, testing, and shipping high-quality code, contributing to the creation of digital products, and working within architectural designs to build features and services for Ramsey Ed’s LMS platform. You'll be developing software solutions that are both scalable and maintainable, meeting deadlines without compromising quality, and focusing on writing thorough integration tests and documentation to ensure solutions are well-tested and shareable. You'll constantly grow in your understanding of Ramsey Ed products, applying business knowledge when designing technical solutions, and participating in user interviews to uncover pain points and contribute to meaningful product improvements. You'll also partner with fellow engineers to improve the overall skillset of the team through knowledge sharing.

Must have:

4+ years of experience in software engineering
Experience with Java, Ruby on Rails, or Kotlin
Strong communication skills
Ability to work in cross-functional settings
Ability to think creatively and solve business challenges
Comfortable working with shifting priorities

Good to have:

Willingness to listen, learn, and work towards common goals

Writing, testing, and shipping high-quality code, contributing to the creation of digital products that will change the lives of the next generation.
Working within architectural designs to build features and services for Ramsey Ed’s LMS platform.
Developing software solutions that are both scalable and maintainable, meeting deadlines without compromising quality.
Focus on writing thorough integration tests and documentation, ensuring solutions are well-tested and shareable.
Constantly growing in your understanding of Ramsey Ed products, applying business knowledge when designing technical solutions.
Participating in user interviews to uncover pain points and contribute to meaningful product improvements.
Partnering with fellow engineers to improve the overall skillset of the team through knowledge sharing.

Skills Needed to Win:

4+ years of proven experience in software engineering, specifically within Java, Ruby on Rails, or Kotlin highly preferred.
A team player who thrives in cross-functional settings, working closely with product managers, designers, and engineers.
Able to think creatively and use technology to solve real business challenges.
Strong communication skills, able to engage beyond code with other team members to align with business goals.
Comfortable working in an environment with shifting priorities and evolving needs.
Willing to listen, learn, and work toward common goals with humility and flexibility.
