Job Description

The Bing Places team at Microsoft is seeking a Software Engineer II to contribute to the development of cutting-edge services for Bing Places Search and other Microsoft AI scenarios. This role involves improving local search results quality and relevance by designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and backend services. Responsibilities include data management and transformation, developing tools for multiple teams, implementing data engineering solutions, producing high-quality code, and improving data governance and security. The ideal candidate will have mid-to-senior-level technical engineering experience with languages like C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, and experience with cloud data technologies. Collaboration within a fast-paced environment is crucial.

Must have:

Mid-level technical engineering experience

As a Software Engineer II in Bing Places Relevance team, you’ll be instrumental in building cutting-edge services that powers Bing Places Search and other Microsoft AI scenarios. You will build a highly motivated team to work on researching, driving, and solving complex technical problems. Your main responsibility will be to work on helping improve local search results quality and relevance.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Mid to Senior level technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
Experience working with cloud data technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with large data engineering projects.
Knowledge and working experience in data mining, statistics, mathematics.
Experience writing and maintaining highly scalable web services.

Other Requirements:

Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements that are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
