The Advanced Controller Development (ACD) is part of Samsung’s Memory Business Unit, the industry's technology and volume leader in DRAM, NAND Flash.  ACD’s vision is to solve key problems of Cloud & Data center by developing the new technology for storage (SSD) controller. We are an integral part of Samsung’s strong R&D focus & lab innovation engine. We work closely with development teams to bring feature innovation to product roadmaps.

What You’ll Do

• Understand the system-architecture and micro-architecture of the chip to build best-in-class verification environments
• Create verification plan (Vplan) and verification requirement (VRs) from the architecture specification.
• Generate constraints random test cases (directed, focused, and so on)
• Create coverage model for function coverage.
• Create SVAs to increase function coverage.
• Hold the verification reviews with designer and architect to sign off the VRs.
• Build auto verification flows to run the regression.

Location: Daily onsite presence at our San Jose HQ Location or Folsom office n alignment with our Flexible Work policy.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s Computer Science or equivalent with a minimum of 10+ years of experience developing enterprise software solutions in C/C++ on Linux or a Master’s in Computer/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science with 8+ years or PhD in engineering or related Science with 5+ years of experience in ASIC verification
• Expert level knowledge and experience in HVL methodology (UVM)
• Solid verification skills in constrained random testing, and debugging.
• Strong programming language skills including C++, Assembly.
• Strong knowledge of the coverages models.
• Strong knowledge in verification flow and tools
• Experience in storage interfaces like PCIe, DRAM, and CPU.
• Deep understanding of flash memory controller architecture, and related IP verification, SOC verification process and tools.
• Working knowledge of storage technologies (NAND flash, SSD, etc.), especially for datacenter scale product (requirement, usage, etc.)
• Understanding of the emerging technologies (CXL, Computation in memory and storage, Ethernet-attached SSD etc.) in server memory and storage systems
• Experience with performance modeling of embedded systems is beneficial.
• Track record of innovation and creativity in problem solving
• Must be highly motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet aggressive project deadlines in a team environment
• Ability to work successfully with cross-functional teams, including coordinating across organizational boundaries and geographies.
