Job Description
The Technical Solutions Engineer, SAP Priority Solutions, at Google Cloud Platform, supports customers using Google Cloud's products. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving issues, collaborating with product, SRE, and engineering teams to improve product quality, and acting as a subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders. The role involves working with SAP-on-GCP and SAP on Google Bare Metal Solution (BMS) technologies, resolving technical deployment obstacles, and developing best practices for supporting cloud-based SAP solutions. This position requires strong experience in supporting customers in Enterprise Cloud, familiarity with SAP technologies (HANA, S4/NetWeaver), and experience in reading and debugging code in various languages (Java, C, C++, .NET, Python, Shell/Bash, JavaScript, or ABAP). The engineer will work within a global team providing 24-hour customer support.
Must have:
- 4+ years Enterprise Cloud support
- SAP technology expertise (HANA, S4/NetWeaver)
- Code debugging (Java, C++, Python, etc.)
- Cloud infrastructure knowledge
- Excellent customer management
Good to have:
- Experience with IaaS solutions
- SAP solutions in cloud platforms
- ABAP programming
- SAP HANA administration
- Linux/other OS understanding

Job Details
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent practical experience in technical support, professional services, software development, or product operations management.
- 4 years of experience supporting customers in Enterprise Cloud.
- Experience with SAP technologies (e.g., HANA database, S4/NetWeaver application platform) and architecture/infrastructure needs, in compute infrastructure, supporting, developing, maintaining cloud solutions.
- Experience reading and debugging code, including but not limited to: Java, C, C++, .NET, Python, Shell/Bash, JavaScript or ABAP.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience supporting SAP solutions in cloud platforms.
- Experience with any of the following IaaS solutions: virtual machines and networks, on-premises/hybrid cloud computing, cloud identity and security models, cloud monitoring and logging, cloud storage.
- Familiarity with SAP basic operations on public cloud around core production concepts (high availability, disaster recovery, scale-out and scale-up architectures, shared storage solutions, clustering solutions, etc).
- Familiarity with SAP proprietary technologies and architecture, including but not limited to ABAP programming, SAP HANA technology and administration.
- Knowledge of Linux/ other operating systems
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Routing, Load Balancing, etc).

- Understand customer impact, handle escalations through diagnosis, trouble-shooting and resolution on Google Cloud Platform products through excellent customer management. Contribute to Supportability Engineering with product, SRE and engineering teams to improve product quality and reduce contact rate.
- Develop understanding of the SAP-on-GCP and SAP on Google Bare Metal Solution (BMS) technologies and solutions by troubleshooting, reproducing, determining root cause for issues.
- Act as subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders and customer organizations, resolve technical deployment obstacles, improve SAP-on-GCP/BMS and other products through understanding issue management and resolution processing.
- Work as part of a team of developers/consultants that globally ensure 24 hour customer support.
- Improve support experience for SAP-on-GCP/BMS by developing best practices/playbooks based on learnings from support of cloud based SAP solutions according to complex customer requirements and technical implementations.
