Job Description

The Vice President, Finance – Product Development & Technology at Aristocrat has global responsibility for financial capital allocation decisions within the design and development (D&D) portfolio (approx. AUD$1bn annual investment). This role partners with the Chief Product Officer and Chief Technology Officer, supporting decision-making and optimizing global D&D spending. Responsibilities include leading the FP&A team, preparing budgets and forecasts, analyzing ROI, managing financial risks, driving continuous improvement, and collaborating on M&A activities. The ideal candidate possesses 15+ years of corporate finance experience (8+ in leadership), a CA/CPA qualification (MBA preferred), and strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders across global locations and some travel.

Job Details

The VP Finance - Product Development and Technology has the global responsibility to partner with the business to ensure sound financial capital allocation decisions for investment in the design and development (D&D) portfolio are made, as well as leading financial planning and analysis for D&D spend. With approximately AUD$1bn annual investment in D&D, this is the highest resource allocation priority for Aristocra,t supporting our strategy for the future. This role supports the Chief Product Officer and Chief Technology Officer in decision support and optimizing the global D&D portfolio spend.

What You'll Do

  • Business partners with the Chief Product Officer and Chief Technology Officer (both US based) as well as the CFOs for each of our three businesses (Gaming, Interactive, and Product Madness) in decision support with the vision to enable the business to optimize global D&D portfolio spending. Provides data-led insights supporting the nature of the spending and the profitability projections linked to capital allocation decisions.

  • Facilitates and supports the processes and analysis required for investment decision-making for global D&D spend, including developing business cases to support investment choices in line with Aristocrat investment frameworks. This will initially require embedding global standard processes. Works cross-functionally to determine when key assumptions have changed and when further leadership dialogue is needed.

  • Leads the FP&A team that supports global D&D spend in the CPO and CTO functions, as well as with each of our respective commercial business units (Gaming, Interactive, and Product Madness) to ensure spending is managed, understood and reported across all reporting cycles, including identification and management of financial risks and opportunities. Supports and drives the personal and professional development of the team. Provides direction and guidance to ensure excellence in execution and strong business partnerships across the organisation.

  • Supported by the FP&A team, ownership for the preparation of the D&D global annual budget, reforecasts during the year, and monitoring spend vs expectations, with analysis across multiple business units and currencies

  • Produce regular executive-level analysis on return on investments

  • Provide thought leadership to drive and challenge continuous improvement

  • Partners with the Finance enterprise reporting center of excellence to enable financial reporting to meet the needs of the D&D function

  • Together with the team, leads various projects, including the design of processes to where allocation of existing spend is attributed to specific programs of work.  Annually gain an understanding of where time is spent through collaboration with D&D leaders.  Develop a taxonomy and develop simple allocations of cost. 

  • This role may require commercial business support for M&A activity and strategic projects as it relates to Product & Technology spending.

  • As a senior member of the Group Finance team, actively participate in the leadership of the broader function supporting our Finance culture vision and transformation journey

What We're Looking For

  • CA/CPA qualified, MBA preferred

  • 15+ years of large, multi-layered corporate finance environment, of which 8+ in leadership positions. Gaming or technology industry knowledge is welcomed.

  • This position will be based in Las Vegas but needs to be flexible to work with internal and external stakeholders in various global time zones, with some travel required to meet team and stakeholders.

Pay Range

$259,350 - $481,650 per year

Our goal is to pay a market competitive salary focusing near the median of our pay ranges. However, final offers for all positions will be based on several factors such as experience level, education, skills, work location, and internal pay equity.
