REQUIREMENT 

We are looking for talented 3D Animators to join our animation department! The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for creating fun and exciting animations and pay particular attention to detail. We know that most people can create a walk cycle, but can you bring a character to life and if not do you want to learn to?  

We are looking for disciplined and artistic candidates with a firm grasp of animation techniques, fundamentals, and Maya. The Animators will work collaboratively with our team to understand project needs, create storyboards and animations, and assist in the editing process. You should be collaborative, knowledgeable, and reliable.  

To be a successful Animator, you should be adaptable, creative, and receptive to direction. You should be happy to work with others as our animators treat each other like family.  

You must be based in Edinburgh or able to come to our office located in Edinburgh, Scotland as this is an office-based position.  

SKILLS REQUIRED 

Please do not apply for specific experience levels as we place you accordingly once we evaluate you. We do not believe that experience is gained over time, we believe that your exposure and talent dictate this.  

Basic  

Bachelor’s degree, certificate in computer animation (not a must) or a strong portfolio supporting your talent.  

Understanding of animation, storytelling, and character development techniques.  

Attention to detail, adaptability, and receptiveness to feedback and direction.  

Intermediate  

Understanding; lighting, shadows, and textures  

Ability to work independently or with a team to develop animations and solve problems.  

Strong interpersonal, communication skills.  

Advanced  

Understanding of limb movement, the effect of weight, and the behaviour of skin and flesh  

Experience and knowledge of working with Unity

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Design and implement high-quality 3D character animations using Autodesk Maya.
• Develop blockout animations to establish timing, composition, and key poses.
• Produce final animation sequences ready for presentation and approval by the Head of Animation.
• Craft expressive and emotive character performances that convey personality and narrative intent.
• Ensure all animation deliverables meet project requirements and are completed within established deadlines.
• Organize and manage animation files, asset libraries, and maintain up-to-date documentation and workflow procedures.
• Apply creative and artistic direction to visually communicate stories or concepts effectively.
