About the team and the role:

Join the Collectibles team at eBay, dedicated to supporting the historical stronghold area of collectibles in markets such as Trading Cards, Toys, Stamps, Coins, and Bullion. The outstanding culture of the team includes a strong focus on innovation and creativity, aligning with impactful projects across eBay. The Android Developer role involves building and maintaining large-scale applications using modern technologies and architectures, playing a pivotal part in advancing eBay's mobile app capabilities.

What you will accomplish:

  • Mentor and develop other specialists, raising the team's technical perfection, focusing on innovation and best practices.

  • Advocate for continual improvements in code quality and processes, supporting agile methodologies.

  • Collaborate optimally within the team and across various eBay organizations, encouraging a self-organizing culture.

  • Implement modern clean architecture patterns like MVVM in high-impact applications.

  • Use Jetpack libraries and other modern tools to develop features that improve app performance and modularity.

  • Contribute to the evolution of eBay’s fast-evolving microservices architecture, ensuring scalability and performance

What you will bring:

  • 5-7 years of experience in Android application development, with deep proficiency in Kotlin and Java

  • Strong expertise in unit testing and functional UI testing using JUnit and Espresso, along with experience in dependency injection with Dagger.

  • Proven experience with modern architecture patterns such as MVVM and familiarity with Jetpack libraries like LiveData, DataBinding, and ViewModel.

  • Extensive knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working on large-scale applications with extensive codebases

  • Ability to ensure feature modularity and scalability in application design

  • Willingness to work with cutting-edge technologies in a dynamic environment, contributing to impactful projects at eBay

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$95,200 - $168,700

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
