Drive/Traction Inverter Performance Modeling Engineer

Tesla's drive unit development team seeks skilled performance modeling engineers to enhance power electronics for its vehicles. Responsibilities include implementing power stage loss and thermal models in MATLAB/Simulink, leveraging the traction inverter model for vehicle architecture initiatives, maintaining and expanding model capabilities, collaborating with engineering teams, and identifying performance limits. The ideal candidate possesses an M.Sc. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience, proficiency in power converter modeling in MATLAB/Simulink, and experience with custom software development. A good understanding of switching waveforms, semiconductor losses, thermal behavior, and Git/Github is essential.
