Job Description

As Business Development Manager, you'll drive strategic growth by forging partnerships, expanding the game portfolio, and boosting revenue. Responsibilities include establishing impactful partnerships, building a robust pipeline of opportunities across territories, transmedia, merchandise, licensing, and new platforms. You will produce market trend reports and lead all stages of deal-making, from prospecting to contract negotiation. This role requires significant video game industry experience, a strong developer network, and proven success in relationship building and deal-closing. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the gaming ecosystem and data analysis skills.

Business Development Manager

Hybrid (will require some travel to our offices, 4 days in the office per month)

Team17 Digital is a leading, independent video games label and creative partner for developers from all over the world. Our mission is: delivering pioneering indie games that players around the world will love for a lifetime. 

At our core, we develop and publish games to bring quality gaming experiences to players across multiple platforms. We focus on premium, rather than free-to-play games, and we’ve a portfolio of over 100 games, including iconic titles such as Worms, Overcooked, Hell Let Loose and Dredge. The games we publish top the charts on most gaming platforms and we have won many awards from BAFTAs to Golden Joysticks, as well as winning Publisher of the Year at the esteemed Develop Star Awards. 

About the role:

As Business Development Manager, you’ll spearhead strategic initiatives to grow our portfolio, strengthen our partnerships, and drive revenue. What you will be working on as a Business Development Manager

Establish high-impact partnerships annually that enhance the company’s portfolio and our market position.

Build and maintain a robust pipeline of business opportunities, ensuring consistent lead generation and long-term sustainability within new territories, transmedia, merchandise, partnerships, licensing and new platforms.

Produce actionable insights and quarterly reports on market trends, competitor activity, and partnership performance, enabling informed decision-making.

Lead all stages of deal-making, from prospecting and pitching to contract negotiation and implementation.

 

What we would like to see:  

Significant and measurable Business Development experience gained with the Video Games industry.

An existing console and PC indie/AA developer network

Proven track record of building strong internal and external relationships and delivering results.

Strong understanding of the gaming ecosystem, including developers, publishers, platforms, and emerging technologies.

Ability to analyse data, trends, and market insights to inform strategic decisions aligned to our company strategy

Stage 1 (up to 30 Mins) Talent Acquisition

Stage 2 (45 to 1 hour) General Manager
