The Design Project Manager will partner with the Creative Director, Art Director, and Operations Manager to manage key client projects, including briefing, project management, and client relationship management. Responsibilities include organizing design briefings, clarifying briefs, and managing project timelines and milestones. The role requires experience in packaging design, brand design, and digital design. The manager will provide precise briefings to minimize rework, work closely with the internal design team to meet client expectations and budget, and support the development of new business opportunities. Additional tasks include assisting in resource planning, supporting the team's strengths, and conducting comparative analysis research. Performance management includes supporting revenue targets, maximizing profitability, and ensuring client satisfaction.

Job Details

Primary focus

 

  • Partner with Creative Director/Art Director/Operations Manager in briefing in and project management of key client for Creative and Adaptive Design projects
  • Manage client relationships, organise and receiving design briefings, meetings, clarifying briefs and required design and artwork assets to kick start projects with the Creative/Account Management Team.
  • Experience with packaging design, familiar with the brand design, new visual brand launches, brand architecture and portfolio design to packaging structure, brand experience offline to online, and digital is a must.
  • Attend meetings with PPM/Onsite technical team to provide design support in taking brief on any creative/ adaptation work requirements when required
  • Provide precise briefing to minimise rework and work closely with internal designer/ artist to ensure delivery of design/ meeting client’s expectations and budget
  • Manage timelines and key milestones to ensure we can deliver the project, negotiate with client for quality time to develop good design solutions according to the briefs and the relevant brand guidelines
  • Address lead time concern with design team to meet client’s timeline
  • Prepare design brief, status reports, job closure, invoice requirements with support from SGS Project Managers as part of the integrated offer for our key clients
  • Support Regional/ Account Manager or Directors for online deliverables, developing new business opportunities through organic growth and different brands within the client business
  • Working with the Creative Team to adjust project goals and design revisions on the fly as necessary to adapt to changing situations to meet established schedules
  • Identifying potential problems in the creative pipeline and working with the Creative Team to prevent and resolve them
  • Supporting the Creative Team to keep studio executive staff, studio manager and/or account staff up to speed on project status

 

Supporting tasks

 

  • Assist Creative Director/Design Director in managing design team/ resource planning needs
  • Assist in reviewing team’s strength to support the required business
  • Utilize experience to plan and implement effective creative processes and products
  • Understand, embrace, and communicate and contribute to our corporate culture
  • Comparative analysis research; support ideas with references
  • Continually updating their presentation and technical software skills
  • To support new business pitch or organic growth

 

Performance Management

  • Support Account Director in meeting the revenue target for the calendar year
  • Maximise profitability by identifying new opportunities with client
  • Timely submission of reports / forecasts
  • Ensure client satisfaction at all levels, across all categories
