About the Role:
Are you an infrastructure engineer who enjoys building and optimizing automated image creation pipelines? Do you have experience working with multiple operating systems and a passion for streamlining development environments?
As an Engineer II on the TechOps CICD Infrastructure team, you’ll help architect and maintain the image generation systems that power CrowdStrike’s software factory. You’ll work hands-on with Windows, Linux, and macOS environments to create consistent, secure, and optimized build images through automated pipelines. Your contributions will directly impact developer productivity by ensuring reliable environments across our infrastructure. What You'll Do:
Strong experience with IaC tools like HashiCorp Packer and Ansible
Expertise in operating system lifecycle management
Experience with various consumer and enterprise operating systems (Windows, Linux, MacOS) operating at scale
Familiarity with Infrastructure as a Service platforms including VMware, AWS, Azure, GCP and OpenStack
Ability to lead the implementation and design of virtualization automation and IaaS capabilities, with a focus on image generation
Experience designing, building, and maintaining CICD pipelines, particularly using Jenkins and GitLab
Ensure proper monitoring, maintenance, and resilience of critical environments
Ability to determine root-cause for incidents, correlate recurring incidents to systemic problems, and drive towards resolution
Provide guidance on automating common tasks and deploying with an IaaS model
Experience utilizing source-code repositories using git (Bitbucket, Gitlab, etc.)
Strong command line skills and ability to understand scripts and programs for automation, tools, frameworks, dashboards, alarms (common uses: Python, Go)
Experience with common scripting languages such as Python, Groovy, PowerShell
Ability to document processes/procedures
Ability to perform code-review for quality and adherence to company style guides
What You'll Need:
3+ years of experience working in a large-scale production environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
2-3 business-related trips per year for group meetings
Must work effectively and professionally with cross-functional groups across divisions, worldwide, as part of a team
Must be able to effectively work with a distributed team across multiple time zones
Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make good, timely decisions
Demonstrate self-learning capabilities, taking initiative in a fast pace/quickly changing environment
Security-mindset, general understanding of cybersecurity principles
