Job Description

The Head of Operations, Japan at Xsolla will develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures. Collaborating with business leaders, this role will optimize processes, enhance productivity, reduce costs, and expand the Japan market. Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, ensuring quality, compliance, and establishing KPIs. Cross-functional collaboration with departments like BD, Finance, and Marketing is crucial. This role requires strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills, along with experience in the gaming, payment, or IT industry in Japan. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in managing budgets, driving cost efficiencies, and navigating a fast-paced environment.

Strong negotiation skills, relationship-building abilities, and analytical expertise are essential, along with experience in business development, sales, or the gaming industry. RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures
    • Collaborate with the business line leaders to set and achieve business goals
    • Lead the optimization of processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs
    • Possess and utilize strong Japanese networks for market growth
    • Expand and increase Japan market with Business Development support
    • Operations and Performance Management
    • Oversee daily operational activities, ensuring efficiency and quality standards
    • Ensue compliance with industry regulations and company policies
    • Establish key performance indications (KPIs) to monitor operational success
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with other departments (e.g., BD, Finance, Marketing) to support organizational objectives
    • Drive alignment between operational functions and business strategies
    • Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies specifically for Japan market

QUALIFICATIONS

    • Required
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
    • Proven experience (5-10 years plus) in a gaming, payment, or IT industry, with a strong understanding of local regulations and market trends
    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
    • Excellent leadership and people management skills
    • Proficiency in operational tools and software (e.g., ERP systems, CRM platforms)
    • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills
    • Experience in managing budget and driving cost efficiencies
    • Results-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
    • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative workplace culture
    • Must be legally authorized to work in Japan and Japanese native level (JLPT-N1 level) required
