Job Description & Summary:

Our Data Platform suite includes software such as Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI, and Data Services, all hosted on the Azure platform.

The Business Applications Operations (BAO) team supports the Data Platform suite, including application upgrades, serving a large number of territories around the world. A global engineer is responsible for the technical implementation of critical business applications for our DP Portfolio, serving a number of PwC network firms. Responsibilities include complex deployment projects, innovation, process improvements, and incident resolution, while offering business value with a focus on service quality and agility.

A team player who can interact, share, communicate, and collaborate with members of the Data Platform Global team, both technical and non-technical, as well as other global teams such as the global development team and territory IT. They work effectively to overcome complexities, resolve issues, and deliver quality service.

Technology and Firm Operations bring this vision to life by enabling the business to achieve its tech-driven goals. The work undertaken here spans a range of areas, from leading and supporting the firm through the build or adoption of new technology, to protecting against risk, and delivering valuable data insights that transform our tech capabilities.

Responsibilities:

As a Cloud Application Support Engineer in our Global Business Application Operations group, your impact will be seen through:

  • Providing full-stack operational support for our in-house and vendor products.
  • Resolving incidents and offering end-user support through your robust troubleshooting abilities across the full stack.
  • Demonstrating a strong desire to upskill and grow in multiple competencies.
  • Performing after-hour releases and participating in rostered on-call support.
  • Possessing experience in managing Azure infrastructure, including Kubernetes Services, App Services, Azure Databases, Storage Accounts, and Virtual Machines.
  • Having experience with platforms such as Apache NiFi, Apache Kafka, PostgreSQL, MS SQL, MySQL, Tableau, Alteryx, and Power BI, is highly desirable.
  • Having experience with tools such as Azure DevOps, Terraform, Rancher, and Rafay is highly desirable.
  • Possessing a good knowledge of Linux, Docker, and the OSI Model.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python,

Mandatory skill sets:

  • Experience in the technical implementation and operation of mission-critical IT services.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft products, such as SQL Server, IIS, .NET Framework, and MS Windows Applications.
  • Understanding of SQL Server.
  • Experience in writing SQL queries.
  • Experience in IT systems with a demonstrable history of root cause analysis on production issues.
  • Ability to acquire a comprehensive understanding of a complex suite of IT applications and components.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all team members in the delivery of the DP Service.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience working within an ITIL-based framework.
