The IT Security Manager will be responsible for developing and executing business plans and initiatives within the Cyber Security team. This role, based in Homebush, NSW, involves working with IT Security Officers and Cyber Security Specialists to improve security design, perform Cyber Security GAP analysis, manage ICT Cyber Security Certification, provide technical expertise, and develop Cyber Security policies. The position requires travel to customer sites and involves activities like monitoring logs, providing advice and ensuring security protocols are followed. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Cyber Security GRC.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in IT/Cyber Security/Computer Science.
  • NV1 Defence Security clearance is a must.

  • Industry certification (desirable).

We are seeking a qualified and experience IT Security Manager to join our Cyber Security team! This role will be reporting into the Group Lead and working with our IT Security Officers and Cyber Security Specialists on developing and executing business plans and initiatives.

This role will be based in our Head Office in Homebush, NSW. This role also includes travel to our customer sites when required.

The role we are offering you

  • Develop & improve security design and provide recommendation to the project and technical team
  • Perform Cyber Security GAP analysis and lead cyber security maturity programs.
  • Manage ICT Cyber Security Certification and Accreditation across multiple sites.
  • Provide technical expertise to IT Security Officers and Cyber GRC specialists.
  • Develop Cyber Security Policies, Frameworks, Principles and Strategies.
  • Provide technical advice related to effective Log monitoring activities


Our ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor in IT/Cyber Security/Computer Science or relevant experience in Cyber Security GRC area 
  • Industry certification (desirable)
  • NV1 Defence Security clearance is a must

Security requirements

As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
