Job Description

Virtuos seeks a Junior Software Engineer to implement and develop game features (AI, UI, audio, networking, gameplay). Responsibilities include debugging, optimizing code, collaborating with artists and designers, writing clean and efficient code, prioritizing tasks, and working within a team environment. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Computer Science or a related field and be proficient in C++ and Unreal Engine. Familiarity with Blueprints, 3D mathematics, and agile methodologies is a plus. ABOUT THE POSITION

Responsibilities

  • Implement and develop features such as AI, UI, audio, networking, and gameplay systems. 
  • Debug and optimize code to ensure high performance across target platforms
  • Collaborate with artists and designers to bring creative concepts to life.
  • Work independently to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following industry standards.
  • Deliver high-performance, high-quality, and well-documented code.
  • Prioritize and execute tasks in a team environment.

Qualifications

 

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine and its subsystems.
  • Proficiency in C++ programming language. 
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.  
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, creative environment.  
  • Familiar with debugging tools.  

  

Nice to Have: 

  • Experience with Blueprints in Unreal Engine.
  • Passion for video games and a desire to build engaging experiences for players. 
  • Competent at 3D mathematics related to gaming. 
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies. 
  • Familiarity with other coding languages such as C#, Python, Lua.
  • Knowledge of profiling.
