Job Description
As a Lead MySQL DBA at Paytm, you will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of the database. You'll be involved in planning and developing the database, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing query and script performance. This role requires expertise in MySQL, AWS, and MySQL Enterprise monitoring, as well as experience with database objects, data migration, backup and recovery, and implementing high-availability clustering.
Must have:
- 6+ years of experience in MYSQL DBA
- Core MySQL, AWS, and MySQL Enterprise monitoring
- Extensive work experience on query optimization, script optimization, and other related optimization tools and techniques
- Design and create database objects
- Data migration, backup, restore & recovery
- Resolving performance issues, blocking and deadlocks
- Implement and maintain security and integrity controls
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization
- Strong understanding of MySQL database architecture
- Experience with backup and recovery procedures
- Knowledge of database security best practices
- Experience with data migration and transformation
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

About the role:
Your responsibility as a Lead MYSQL database administrator (DBA) will be the performance, integrity and security of a database. You'll be involved in the planning and development of the database, as well as in troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users.
Requirement:
6+ year of experience in MYSQL DBA.
Core MySQL, AWS and MySQL Enterprise monitoring.
Extensive work experience on query optimization, script optimization, other related optimization tools and techniques including Performance monitoring.
Design and create database objects such as data table structures, stored procedures, views, Triggers, reports, Database Administration, Configuration, Maintenance and Support.
Data migration, backup, restore & recovery, Resolving performance issues, blocking and deadlocks.
Implement and Monitor 2-Node Active\Passive SQL Clustering to provide High Availability for mission critical events, database mirroring, replication and log shipping.
Implement and maintain security and integrity controls including backup and disaster recovery strategies for document management system and MySQL databases.
Help in translating business requirements into technical design specifications and preparing high-level documentation for the Database Design and Database Objects
Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
Strong understanding of MySQL database architecture.
Experience with backup and recovery procedures.
Knowledge of database security best practices.
Experience with data migration and transformation.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
