The NExT Summer Intern – Postproduction will assist the Production team in material tracking, project preparation, and delivery. They will support the Client Services team with events and provide coverage for various desk duties. The intern will shadow team members to learn post-production workflows and creative processes. Daily administrative tasks and special projects will also be part of the role. Interns will participate in a cohort-based curriculum with workshops and guest speakers, focusing on career exploration and professional development. The internship is a paid, full-time position (40 hours/week) lasting 10 weeks (mid-June to mid-August).

*Pay Range: $17.40 CAD hourly


POSITION SUMMARY:
Based in our Vancouver studio, the NExT Summer Intern – Postproduction will provide assistance and support to their assigned Production team, while gaining insight into core postproduction workflows, creative processes, and industry standards. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career in postproduction and/or the entertainment industry.

MAIN DUTIES:
A day in the life of this position may include:
  • Assisting the Production team across the areas of material tracking (incoming and outgoing), project/session preparation, and delivery.
  • Supporting the Client Services team with client and industry events, including full-range set-up and breakdown.
  • Providing staffing and coverage for vault desk, reception, and front office as needed.
  • Supporting studio cleanliness by monitoring bays and common areas for tidiness and upkeep.
  • Shadowing Production team members and gaining exposure to the postproduction workflow and creative processes in various departments.
  • Assisting with daily administrative tasks and special projects as needed.
In addition, interns will participate in a cohort-based curriculum where they will:
  • Explore various career paths through interactive workshops and a guest speaker series.
  • Engage in professional development to set career goals and build workplace skills.

WHAT YOU BRING:
As the ideal candidate, you will have demonstrable interests in postproduction finishing, color grading/correction, dailies, and/or technical support.
You will also have:
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal) with comfort interacting with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changes.

INTERNSHIP DETAILS:
  • Internships are paid, full-time positions (maximum of 40 hours per week).
  • Duration: 10 weeks (mid-June to mid-August)
  • This position is based in studio and may involve some hybrid work.
  • As part of the NExT Internship Program, interns will receive opportunities for professional development and participation in a guest speaker series featuring company leadership and industry experts.

The benefits for eligible part-time employees working 25 or more hours per week and full-time employees in the US include a comprehensive package of health, retirement, and insurance benefits and paid time off. The benefits for eligible project hires and part-time employees working less than 25 hours per week in the US include retirement, select insurance benefits, and where required by law, health benefits. For roles filled in Canada and other territories, local benefits plan offerings as adopted and amended from time to time will apply.
