Job Description

This 12-month fixed-term contract for a People & Culture Advisor involves supporting the employee journey, ensuring smooth HR operations, and fostering a positive workplace culture. Responsibilities include managing HR systems (Employment Hero, Culture Amp, Workday), running engagement programs, advising leaders and employees on compliance, satisfaction, and performance, overseeing onboarding/offboarding processes, and managing HR documentation and annual processes. The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and proficiency in HR systems, with a blend of administrative and advisory tasks, aligning People & Culture initiatives with company goals.

Overview

As our People & Culture Advisor, you'll support the employee journey, ensuring smooth HR operations and a positive workplace culture. This role blends admin tasks with advisory support, helping align People & Culture initiatives with company goals. You'll manage HR systems, run engagement programs, and guide leaders and employees on compliance, satisfaction, and performance.

With strong attention to detail and great people skills, you'll build strong relationships and balance hands-on admin with meaningful advisory work.

Key Responsibilities:

Administration:

  • Manage and update HR databases (Employment Hero, Culture Amp, Workday, Google Sheets) to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Own the onboarding process, including system setup, stakeholder coordination, induction meetings, and surveys.
  • Oversee relocation and visa processes, ensuring compliance with legal and organisational requirements.
  • Administer HR documentation, policies, and key annual processes like salary reviews and performance cycles.
  • Set up and analyse Culture Amp surveys, maintain the Sonder database, and support employee engagement initiatives.

Advisor:

  • Partner with leaders to align HR strategies with business goals and drive People & Culture initiatives.
  • Support managers in salary reviews, performance assessments, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Provide coaching on people management, performance feedback, and fostering an inclusive workplace.
  • Manage performance and employee relations processes, including goal setting, reviews, and conflict resolution.
  • Oversee offboarding to ensure a seamless transition and adherence to best practices.

What You Bring to The Table:

  • Experience working in small HR teams, ideally in start-up/scale-up environments.
  • Strong communication skills, able to simplify complex concepts for different audiences.
  • Stay updated on HR laws, Awards, and Fair Work regulations through active industry engagement.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail, urgency, and follow-through.
  • Proficient in Google Sheets, Culture Amp, Workday, etc. ensuring data accuracy and insightful reporting.
  • Discreet, independent, and always eager to learn.
