Job Description

Meta Reality Labs seeks a Power Electrical Engineer to own the analog/power design, integration, and validation of system-level solutions. Responsibilities include creating power models for battery life estimation, power circuit design and simulation, and prototype validation. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, optimize system power, and troubleshoot technical issues. This role requires expertise in low-power design, battery management systems, and PCB technologies, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills. The engineer will work on delivering breakthrough concepts to market at scale.

Must have:

Low power design experience (3+ years)
Battery management system knowledge
Power circuit design & simulation
PCB technology expertise

Good to have:

Experience with wireless charging
PDN and PI simulation experience (Sigrity or Hyperlynx)
System integration experience with PMICs and wireless subsystems
Experience bringing new technologies to product

Power Electrical Engineer Responsibilities

Responsible for creating power models to estimate battery day of use, power circuit design, simulation, validation, and characterization across multiple products ensuring their successful delivery.

Generate design documentation, guide schematic capture and power delivery network simulation both pre and post board layout, prototype bring-up and design validation.

Characterize power consumption, battery run time, battery usage impact of each NTI project.

Evaluate and enable innovative solutions for cost, size, efficiency, safety, and reliability.

Root-cause and solve technical issues during new technology development.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as architecture, product design, software, NPI, and supply chain.

Work closely with CM/supplier resources to leverage their engineers and maximize the focus of internal resources on adding value to and differentiating our product.

Minimum Qualifications

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.

3+ years of experience of low power design and delivery in consumer electronics or related fields.

Knowledge of the characteristics of power conversion such as linear and switching regulators.

Working experience in battery management system, mobile SoC and PMIC.

Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals.

Experience and knowledge of printed circuit board (PCB) technologies, such as rigid, flex, hybrid, HDI, etc.

Experience leading technical teams, cross-functional groups and vendors against plans.

Experience overall system power optimization and characterization or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in bringing new technologies to product.

Experience performing bench level power measurements and validation.

Experience running PDN and PI simulations such as Sigrity or Hyperlynx.

5+ years of experience of low voltage power design in consumer electronics or related fields.

Experience with wireless charging .

MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

System integration experience involving coex between PMICs and wireless sub-systems.

Knowledge of the relationship between physical layout and electrical performance.

Experience working with following technology areas: audio, image processing, display, wireless, sensors.
