Principal Narrative Designer - Global Remote Freelance

Our studio works on multiple exciting projects at any one time offering plenty of variety and involvement. We have worked on some of the biggest and most exciting IP’s in the games industry, including Diablo Resurrected, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Halo Infinite, Returnal, Forza Horizon 5, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Borderlands 3, FIFA Online 4, PUGB: New State, Sea of Thieves, Amazon: New World, Dauntless, State of Decay 2, Middle Earth: Shadow of War, just to name a few.

Our successful studio is continuing to grow, and we are looking for an experienced Principal Narrative Designer (UK time zone preferred but not required) to join the team.

This is a fully remote 6-month Freelance contract starting in June 2025, with the possibility of extension for another 6–12 months.

This position is offered on a fully remote basis, but the successful candidate must be able to work within the UK timezone hours.

What we are looking for:

• 7+ years of experience as a narrative designer, writing and implementing dialogue to support the player journey
• Strong knowledge of Unreal and experience with dialogue systems
• Ability to write and edit compelling dialogue for characters, missions, and cinematics
• Experience guiding and mentoring other writers to ensure quality and consistency
• Familiarity with building and maintaining narrative design documentation
• Strong understanding of non-linear narrative structures and systems
• Skilled at aligning story beats with gameplay and level design
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive, collaborative, and able to work across disciplines
