The Xbox Platform team at Microsoft seeks a Product Manager II to lead the development of scalable software platforms for players and developers. This role involves defining and driving the strategy for current and future gaming products, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and making design tradeoffs to meet strategic goals. Responsibilities include aligning the platform with product strategy and user needs, balancing in-market product health with long-term vision, and delivering cross-functional features and programs. The ideal candidate will have experience managing cross-functional projects in software development or product management, strong communication skills, and a passion for gaming and consumer products.

Team Xbox is at the forefront of delivering the industry’s best platform and experiences for both players and game developers. We work closely with industry leaders across hardware, software, firmware, services and our 1st and 3rd party game development partners to ensure Microsoft’s platforms are designed and optimized to meet the needs of our most passionate fans and players, whether they choose to play on the Xbox console, their Windows PC or laptop, TVs or mobile devices. 

 

The Xbox Platform team mission is to lead the Operating System (OS) & Platform for the next generation of gaming across a product portfolio of devices. As a Product Manager II, you will deliver scalable software platform for players and developers. You will work across player & developer experiences, commerce, business, and platform to deliver cross-functional features and programs that customers love. You will also be able to leverage customer-first and product leadership as well as technical excellence to meet and exceed customer needs.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 3+ years’ experience in product/service/project/program management or software development managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects, OR equivalent experience.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced English level.
  • Enthusiastic, attention to detail, results oriented, organized, motivated and self-driven.
  • Self-starter who not only deals well with, but thrives in, ambiguity.
  • Drive to innovate and solve complex problems while retaining focus on maintaining a profitable business.

 

Preferred:

  • 5+ years’ experience in product/service/project/program management or software development managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects, OR equivalent experience.
  • Technical knowledge & understanding of operating systems, platforms, and integration across platform and devices/experiences
  • Experience with a full shipping cycle of gaming focused products (e.g. Games, Xbox, Playstation, Steam, etc.)
  • Deep passion for consumer products, gaming or the entertainment business.
