About the role:
The Minecraft team is looking for a passionate Product Manager to lead the Minecraft game tooling team.
As product manager for the tooling team, you will own and drive the strategy, development, and launch of valued tooling products for Minecraft game developers, aligning with the game’s vision and the needs of Mojang gameplay teams to make the contributor experience from idea to launch as smooth as possible. You will report to the Minecraft Game Production Director.
Responsibilities:
- Define and analyze key performance metrics to measure tooling success and make data- and customer informed decisions for future development and workflow improvements.
- Engage with the Mojang gameplay teams to understand their needs and challenges, translating insights into tools and workflow improvements that enhance their development experience.
- Collaborate closely with the engineering manager and tech lead to lead the team and foster a positive, motivating and value-creating environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of driving vision, alignment, and execution across cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record of leading technically advanced and senior teams, with a comprehensive understanding of the live gaming ecosystem.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, preferably within the tech, gaming, or virtual experience sectors.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A strong user-centric mindset as well as an ability to abstract technically complex systems.
- Experience from collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, art and sound design, to ensure successful product outcomes from concept to launch.
What You Need to Know:
We’re looking for candidates who are eligible to work in Sweden. Since our hybrid work model requires two onsite days per week, you’ll need to be based in Stockholm to collaborate with your team and soak up the studio energy.
We are happy to welcome international talent and talent outside Stockholm, however we will not be able to financially support you relocation. If you are located out of Stockholm relocation is a must.
