Job Details

Based in the heart of Leamington Spa, Pixel Toys have spent almost a decade pushing the capabilities of mobile gaming. We have developed multiple award-winning titles, including:  Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realm War; and we’re now excited to be exclusively working on a new game, unlike ANYTHING we’ve done previously!

As a forward thinking and innovative studio we are always looking for new technologies and techniques to develop and use in our games and make them even more engaging experiences for our customers.

We are excited to continue to grow our team and are always on the lookout for highly talented and motivated individuals, who are passionate about gaming and excited to join us on our ambitious journey!

The Role:

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Release & Deployment Project Manager to play a pivotal role in managing the release process for our high-end Free-to-Play mobile game. In this role, you will ensure the smooth and timely deployment of updates, new features, and content while maintaining the highest quality standards and keeping our players engaged. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA, product managers, and marketing; you will align release timelines, ensure proper testing, and monitor live deployments.

Key responsibilities will also include the planning and scheduling of game releases, managing the deployment process for Android and iOS platforms and also maintaining comprehensive release documentation. On top of this, you will proactively identify and mitigate risks, troubleshoot deployment issues and implement rollback plans when necessary.

Additionally, through monitoring post-release performance, gathering player feedback, and advocating for process improvements you will look to enhance efficiency, quality, and therefore player satisfaction. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our games and deliver exceptional experiences to our players.

About you:

You will join us with experience in release management, deployment, or similar roles within the mobile gaming industry, along with an in-depth understanding of Android and iOS platforms, including app store processes for the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Your strong organisational and project management skills will complement your experience managing cross-functional teams, juggling multiple releases and meeting strict deadlines.

On top of this you will have solid technical knowledge, including familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), build automation, and deployment tools; with knowledge of CI/CD pipelines being an added advantage.

Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will be necessary for creating clear documentation, managing stakeholder expectations, and maintaining effective communication. In addition, your exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities will play a crucial role in identifying and resolving issues during releases. Finally, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail will be critical in managing release schedules and deployment processes.
