Team, about the role

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to join the Playrix Technology team to work on the Playrix game engine, platform services, and tools for the company's games. We value a product-oriented approach and the sharing of best practices within teams, and we pay great attention to the quality and reliability of our solutions.

Tasks

  • Build a strong team to ensure high-performance and growth: hiring, coaching and mentoring, leading engineers

  • Partner with Technical Producers to build and execute the tech product roadmap

  • Ensure engineering excellence: analyze the tech, tools, solution design and production/ops practices efficiency and quality, lead the initiatives to improve it

Requirements

  • Action and self-starter mindset, proactive problem solver

  • Bar raiser: you are never satisfied with the status quo and challenge yourself, your teams, and your peers

  • 10+ years hands-on experience in engineering (mobile, web, or desktop) with 5+ in Senior management roles

  • Proven experience managing a team of engineers (10-30 people): creating a culture of independent and self-organized teams

  • Experience in change management and building/improving efficient production, delivery and ops processes on a departmental level

  • Strong technical expertise and previous hands-on experience as a software engineer, preferably in large mobile or desktop products (iOS/Android native, C++/C#/Java/Scala). Nice to have: experience with complex in-house or Unity/Unreal game engine.

Preferred

  • Experience working with high-load products with distributed architecture

  • Stack: C++, Python, Go, JS

  • Experience in game development

  • Experience producing tools for mobile/desktop products development

  • Understanding of game engine architecture
