Must have:
  • 5+ years of experience in professional Game Design
  • 2+ years of experience with gameplay systems in an action game environment
  • Outcome-oriented design approach for complex systems and mechanics
Good to have:
  • Experience with a wide range of game genres
  • Shipped or worked on an AAA+ online game

As a Senior Gameplay Systems Designer II working on our prototype game you will help design key moment to moment experiences for our players. You will bring all of your creativity, critical thinking, player empathy, technical know-how, and perseverance to bear as we attempt to craft the next great experiences for players. You will collaborate with a small tight knit cross disciplinary team to not only create great experiences for players but also work to define the design first culture needed to deliver those experiences.

  • What you’ll get to do:

    • Maintain a holistic vision for gameplay systems, mechanics, and content that support a wide spectrum of play in a dynamic gameplay environment.

    • Work with a cross disciplinary team to ideate, prototype, playtest, and iterate core gameplay features.

    • Work with world builders to get your gameplay integrated into the world map.

    • Plan and execute regular playtesting of features and provide key insights in how to better unlock fun.

    • Be a thought leader on the team and help build design culture within the design group and promote good design thinking among all disciplines.

Requirements:

  • What we are looking for: 

    • 5+ years of experience in professional Game Design

    • 2+ years of experience working with gameplay systems in an action game environment

    • Can bring an outcome oriented design approach to complicated systems and mechanics. 

  • Pluses: 

    • Widely played, can speak to player experiences in a wide set of genres. Can break down what makes these games work and what learnings can be applied to our project.

    • Shipped or worked on at least one AAA+ online game

    • Experience working on a live product

The base pay range for this position in the state(s) above is $99,600 to $207,600 per year. Actual pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as other medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the specific position offered.
