Enterprise Solution Architect (Presales)

Rackspace Technology is seeking a world-class Enterprise Solution Architect to drive large deals within our EMEA Public Cloud Presales team. You will consult on deals, leveraging your technical expertise to transform business challenges into successful solutions. You will identify opportunities with existing clients and acquire new ones. Ideal candidates bring both technical depth for CXO-level engagements and presales/sales proficiency to collaborate seamlessly with clients and internal teams. You'll strategically tackle business, product, and technical issues, crafting compelling value propositions across various domains. You'll lead the creation of proposals, benchmarks, pricing, and innovative commercial models, while building a top-tier enterprise architect team to support sales pursuits. Key responsibilities include leading large and strategic pursuits, architecting multi service line deals, working with Sales, Presales and delivery teams to create winning proposals and solutions, owning response to RFP’s, defining unique solutions, creating a repository of reusable assets for Presales, creating pricing and effort benchmarks, leading and managing a team of Enterprise architects and bid managers, collaborating with Service Line teams and presales architects, co-ordinating with delivery, finance, and legal teams, owning the quality of solutions, defining and distributing team goals, working with internal departments and external vendors, and creating weekly and monthly reports on Presales status.
Must have:
- 15 years of experience in Presales and Solution Engineering for services deals
- Proven experience in solutioning Platform, Infra, and Cloud services
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect in a leading IT or Professional Services organization
- Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect
- Strong technical knowledge in both professional and managed services
- Excellent understanding of Public Cloud services across AWS, Azure and GCP
- Good business and commercial acumen to handle pricing of complex deals
- Exceptional people skills: the ability to develop, mentor, engage and motivate staff to excellence
- Excellent creative problem-solving abilities, coupled with a desire to take on responsibility
- Strong communication skills: verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation
- Excellent time management, decision-making, and organization skills
- Ability to develop and communicate individual goals and executable tasks based on functional and strategic goals and objectives
- German language skills (C1/C2 or native)

As a key team member, you'll consult on deals, leveraging your technical expertise to transform business challenges into successful solutions. Your role centres on driving sales growth, identifying opportunities with existing clients and acquiring new ones.
Ideal candidates bring both technical depth for CXO-level engagements and presales/sales proficiency to collaborate seamlessly with clients and internal teams. You'll strategically tackle business, product, and technical issues, crafting compelling value propositions across various domains.
Comfortable discussing diverse topics, from infrastructure and DevOps to TCO and cloud strategy, you're a versatile problem solver. Your responsibilities include leading the creation of proposals, benchmarks, pricing, and innovative commercial models, while building a top-tier enterprise architect team to support sales pursuits.
German language skills (C1/C2 or native) are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead large and strategic pursuits.
- Architect multi service line deals.
- Work with Sales, Presales and delivery teams to create winning proposals and solutions.
- Own response to RFP’s and create high quality solutions and response documents.
- Define unique solutions and win themes for solutions.
- Create repository of reusable assets for Presales.
- Create pricing and effort benchmarks over a period.
- Use standard processes and tools.
- Follow proper sales process and responsible for keeping pipeline updated.
- Lead and manage a team of Enterprise architects and bid managers.
- Collaborate with Service Line teams, presales architects to create winning proposals.
- Co-ordinate with delivery, finance, legal teams to complete multi-service line multifunctional deals.
- Own the quality of solutions.
- Create Improvement plans and drive higher efficiencies.
- Collaborate with delivery teams to evaluate projects for technical feasibility and reasonableness.
- Define and distribute team goals. Ensure team operates within a defined set of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Work with internal departments and external vendors to provide comprehensive and complete solutions.
- Create weekly and monthly reports on Presales status and update leadership.
Required Experience
- 15 years of experience in Presales and Solution Engineering for services deals.
- Proven experience in solutioning Platform, Infra, and Cloud services.
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect in a leading IT or Professional Services organization.
- Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect.
- Strong technical knowledge in both professional and managed services.
