Job Description

Egnyte is seeking a Senior Manager, Collaboration Platform to lead the Collaboration Platform group reporting to the Engineering Platform VP. This role involves providing technical direction, generating roadmaps, and ensuring high-quality operation of Egnyte's platform. The ideal candidate will collaborate with stakeholders, stay updated on industry trends, and drive innovation. The position requires a hands-on approach with technical input and direction. Egnyte is a secure multi-cloud platform for content security and governance, protecting valuable data for over 22,000 organizations. The Collaboration Platform team manages core components like storage, data organization, search, and permissions, operating at a massive scale.
Must have:
  • 10+ years experience in SaaS or Software Engineering
  • Experience building and operating large-scale cloud infrastructure
  • Hands-on with system designs
  • Past background in Java
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS)
  • Physical presence 3 days a week in HQ
Good to have:
  • Python or Go experience
  • Understanding of infrastructure as code concepts
  • Bachelors in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • Masters preferred

The Collaboration Platform team takes care of one of the most crucial parts of Egnyte’s software stack – the core components that power our solutions, including storage, data organization, search, connectivity to client-side components, permission system and many others.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead the Collaboration Platform group, reporting to the Engineering Platform VP.
  • Be hands-on and lead from the front; provide technical inputs and direction to the group as necessary. Be a primary stakeholder in generating roadmap to support Egnyte’s current and future scale.
  • Ensure high quality operation of Egnyte’s platform. Drive a strong culture of continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, such as application teams, DevOps and SRE to ensure infrastructure supports roadmap and operational needs as necessary.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices to inject innovation into Egnyte’s architecture.
  • Physical presence of 3 days a week in our HQ is expected.

 

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years experience in SaaS or Software Engineering
  • Experience in building and operating large-scale, mission-critical cloud infrastructure for SaaS products.
  • Hands-on: understand and be able to contribute to system designs.
  • Past background in Java (mandatory) and Python / Go (desirable).
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (GCP, Azure or AWS) and infrastructure as code concepts.
  • Bachelors in Engineering, Computer Science or related field, Masters preferred

 

COMPENSATION:

  • Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across multiple U.S. geographic locations, and pay varies based on defined markets. The standard base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $210k - $260k annually. Pay varies by work location and may also be dependent on job-related skills, knowledge, and/or experience. During the interview and/or hiring process, your recruiter can share more information about the compensation package specific to the role and job location.
