Job Description

As a Senior Producer at HB Studios, you will lead the development and production of their successful PGA Tour 2K Golf franchise. Responsibilities include driving development efforts to align with business strategy and product vision; collaborating with cross-functional teams (designers, engineers, artists) to define project scope and metrics; serving as a liaison between development, management, and external partners; establishing and maintaining efficient production processes and workflows; leading teams to create a high-quality player experience; managing schedules and resources; and collaborating in sprint planning activities. You'll also manage risks, dependencies, and change requests, evaluate processes, generate performance reports, and collaborate with stakeholders on design reviews. Managing relationships with external partners and licensed assets are also key responsibilities. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • 4+ years game production experience (AAA preferred)

Job Details

HB Studios is a driving force in the creation of sports video games and the studio behind PGA Tour 2K Golf – presently working on Console and PC.

As a Senior Producer and experienced professional, you will leverage your expertise to drive the production and development of our game franchise. In this role, you will take ownership of delivering on the product vision, roadmap, and backlog, ensuring alignment with both business goals and player expectations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to prioritize and deliver features that maximize value, enhance player engagement, and uphold the highest quality standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive development efforts to ensure that features and functionality align with business strategy and product vision.
  • Collaborate with studio leadership, designers, engineers, animators, and artists to define project scope, objectives, and success metrics.
  • Serve as a liaison between development teams, management, and external partners to ensure clear communication and effective coordination.
  • Establish and maintain production processes, workflows, tools, and pipelines to optimize development efficiency and team performance.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams in creating a high-quality, immersive, and engaging player experience.
  • Develop and maintain schedules and resource capacity plan to track progress against milestones.
  • Collaborate with Production and Departmental Leads to align tasks with milestones and facilitate communication between teams to manage resources effectively.
  • Coordinate Sprint Planning activities (stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews) to address blockers and track progress.
  • Collaboratively manage and maintain project management tools (e.g., Jira) that support teams in planning, tracking, and releasing work, while adapting to the evolving needs across departments. 
  • Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and change requests impacting project plans and budgets. 
  • Evaluate process deficiencies, recommend improvements, and deliver key performance reports and metrics (production reports, team velocity, burndown data).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to review and evaluate designs, concepts, and competitive products.
  • Manage relationships with external partners, contractors, and licensors to ensure alignment and quality.
  • Coordinate licensed asset management, tracking, and approvals to support the development process.
  • Provide direction, mentorship, and performance feedback to foster collaboration and accountability within the team. 

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Typically, a minimum of 4 to 6+ years of experience in production, including project coordination for shipping game titles (preferably AAA).
  • Deep understanding of the game development life cycle, theory, and technology.
  • Proficient in multimedia and project management tools, including ShotGrid, Jira, Confluence, and Excel.
  • Proven experience demonstrating exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners
  • A strong skill set in communication, teamwork, organization, and problem-solving.

HB Studios creates award-winning video games from our studio in Nova Scotia.
