The Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for booking business within a defined sales territory, market segment, and account list, with a significant focus on new business development. This role involves managing sales activities to achieve the hotel's annual sales and marketing plan and exceed budget. Key responsibilities include identifying business trends, soliciting new business, prospecting and growing accounts, handling leads, closing sales, planning and executing sales trips, and collaborating with other sales associates and departments. The role also requires participating in sales meetings, attending trade shows, organizing familiarization tours for clients, and supporting the development of business and marketing plans. Building excellent client relationships through attention to detail and prompt follow-up is crucial.
Must have:
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
  • Proven track record in international hotel chains in Indonesia
  • Knowledge of international markets (Korea, Japan, India)
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly reliable
  • Good English and Bahasa Indonesia proficiency
  • Ability to embrace and respond to change

Job Description

Senior Sales Manager will have a defined sales territory, market segment(s), account list and/or may partner in a job-sharing setting.  Their primary function is to book business from their prospecting and solicitation efforts and respond to inquiries.  Based on assigned territory and market segment, it’s expected that a significant portion of time be devoted to new business development. This position is responsible for the management of sales activities in line with the annual sales and marketing plan and to achieve/exceed budget in executing the sales strategy of the Hotel.

  • Identify business trends and marketing opportunities that can improve the hotel’s performance.
  • Continuously solicit for new business that expands our client base using action plans focused on the market segment identified by the Director of Sales.
  • Prospecting and growing an account list, handling incoming leads and closing sales.
  • Plan, execute and follow-up on sales trips as approved.
  • Work closely with other sales associates and calling in on important customers and establishing multiple levels of contacts within the customer’s organizati
  • Participate in the sales meetings by sharing latest market trends and new business development opportunities and activities.
  • Attend tradeshows, travel functions, major business functions or as required/directed by the Director of Sales.
  • Organizes familiarization of hotels and their facilities with clients and potential ones.
  • Support and assist in the development of the annual Business Plan, Hotel Budget and Marketing Plan as requested by the Director of Sales.
  • Create excellent client relationship through attention to detail; prompt follow up and empathy for customer perceptions and needs whilst maintaining professionalism.
  • Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Take ownership of daily sales activities and maximize the productivity by following a system of weekly and monthly action plans.
  • Demonstrate good working relationship with other departments maintaining effective communication and teamwork.
  • Actively assist the Credit Department in follow-up of overdue accounts.
  • Other duties assigned by the Director of Sales when required from time to time.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years in a similar capacity with proven track records in international hotel chains in Indonesia. 

Knowledge of international markets ie Korea, Japan, India.

Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

Detail-oriented and highly reliable in thorough execution and follow-through.

Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia, Spoken Mandarin language an advantage 

Attention to detail in quality and guest-oriented, flexible and able to embrace and respond to change effectively, open minded
