Job Description

Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Kotlin needed to join a founding team and drive core product development. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications using Kotlin, Spring Boot, and other frameworks; contributing to infrastructure management using Pulumi or Terraform; collaborating with a high-performing team to solve complex problems; participating in architecture and design discussions; mentoring junior developers; and staying updated on industry trends. The ideal candidate will have 6-10 years of experience in software engineering, strong Kotlin and related framework experience, hands-on infrastructure management experience, and a startup mindset. FinTech or banking domain knowledge is a plus.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Kotlin to join our founding team and drive the development of our core product. In this role, you’ll work on scalable application development, contribute to infrastructure design, and help shape the technical direction of a startup poised for growth. Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Kotlin, Spring Boot, and other relevant frameworks.
Contribute to infrastructure management using tools like Pulumi or Terraform.
Collaborate with a small, high-performing team to solve challenging technical problems and deliver innovative solutions.
Participate in architecture and design discussions to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
Provide mentorship to junior developers as the team grows.
Stay updated on industry trends to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Requirements

We’re open to diverse backgrounds and value skills over credentials. Here’s what we’d love to see in an ideal candidate:

6 to 10 years of experience as a software engineer (no formal degree required).
Strong experience in Kotlin and related frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Vaadin, or similar).
Hands-on experience managing infrastructure with Pulumi, Terraform, or equivalent tools.
Knowledge of the FinTech or traditional banking domains is a plus.
A startup mindset – ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
