As Technical Producers on Wild Rift at Riot, we lead global game teams to build the best in class Mobile MOBA experience leading the MOBA genre. We influence decisions, drive implementation, obliterate obstacles, and relentless push projects across the finish line. We exceed expectations by helping concept, deliver, enhance, and influence projects at every stage of production.

As a Senior Technical Producer within the Wild Rift team, you will use your exceptional technical knowledge and program management skills to ensure monitoring across systems, game reliability and stability, and best in class privacy engineering practices are adopted. You will join a passionate team of product managers, producers, designers, and engineers on a mission to the best mobile League of Legends experience loved by millions of players around the world.

As a Rioter in China, you'll join a team of internationally and culturally diverse professionals that share our prioritization of player experience, rejection of convention and maniacal passion for gaming.

To reinforce Riot’s collaborative culture in our China offices, we’ve decided to do away with the constraints of traditional hierarchical title structures that are more common in the region. Titles don’t really matter at any of Riot’s offices, but we chose to take this extra step in our China offices to foster a space where teamwork thrives. We believe that removing this constraint will promote individual autonomy, ownership, collaboration, and a focus on results. We promise you won’t need a title at Riot to make an impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of our systems, including monitoring, driving triage, incident resolution across teams and Wild remains compliant with all regulations.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, develop and implement incident response plans and procedures. Develop and implement reliability metrics and benchmarks, ensure system uptime, performance, compliance, and security.

  • Collaborate with legal and privacy teams, conduct risk assessments and impact analyses, and work with cross functional teams to ensure compliance.

  • Collaborate with development teams and release teams to support development and deployment of new features, meeting 1st party app store requirements, and 3rd party integrations requirements.

  • Manage, plan, and track production and development schedules and workflows, while raising risks, managing trade-offs, and eliminating blockers

  • Continuously assess a team's current situation and adapt planning tools, Agile methodologies, and communication channels to ensure successful, sustainable delivery

  • Create transparency and predictability via roadmaps, cycle times, value stream maps, and release reports

Required Qualifications:

  • Educated and experienced: you have earned your bachelor's degree in Computer Science or another technically-oriented degree or equivalent practical experience. You spent time working as a developer, product manager, before acquiring 7+ years of experience working with teams as a Producer, Technical Program Manager, or Development Manager building mobile games, user facing mobile products.

  • Prior experience working with legal and privacy and compliance regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.). Knowledge of privacy engineering principles and best practices desired.

  • Process-driven: you have a broad toolkit that supports creative product discovery, defined process optimization, and value stream mapping

  • An Agile pro: you're fluent in—and avid advocate of—development best practices; you've successfully lead teams using a variety of practices including but not limited to: Scrum, Kanban and Lean Product Management; you take a holistic, systems-thinking view of the product development lifecycle and adapt processes accordingly

  • A delivery-focused leader: you guide teams down the right paths even if they're unpopular or difficult to traverse to ensure they provide optimal value; your unshakeable confidence and cool head make others look towards you when sirens are blaring and all hell is breaking loose. You lead product delivery in software or infrastructure; you take technical concepts continuously through ideation, planning, development, release, and maintenance.

  • A motivational mentor: you keep teams focused on results, growth and actionable feedback; you're emotionally attuned to others and are open about your own feelings, which helps you resolve conflicts quickly, comfortably, and respectfully

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior engineering experience

  • Experience working on privacy and compliance initiatives for in game or around game features

  • Experience operating live services games

  • Experience co-developing features with external development partners

  • Experience working with global teams across time zones and languages

Tech operations and live operations:

  • Triage processes and resolutions between WR team, QT, liveops and player support teams

  • Drive issue resolutions and resolve incidents and issues

  • Internal RCA processes and resolutions

Game services stability and reliability:

  • Ensure game stability and reliability

  • cover gaps in games alerting and monitoring capabilities

  • Define and own metrics reliability, and stability metrics

Privacy, legal and compliance:

  • 1st party app store compliance

  • 3rd party developer compliance

  • Ensure all new features are legal and privacy compliant

  • Tackle emergent legal and regulatory compliance tasks

  • Drive resolution to legal and compliance escalations
