Job Description

Haleon, a leading consumer health company, seeks a Site Finance Director to manage its key strategic site in Aprilia, Italy, with over 600 employees. This role involves strategic financial discussions and hands-on operational management. The director will be responsible for statutory and corporate financial statements, annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. They will partner with the Site Director on strategic vision and business case alignment, direct product costing and variance reporting, and provide financial insights for manufacturing operations. The position requires establishing and maintaining internal controls, reviewing capital asset requests, and acting as a finance lead on strategic projects. The role also involves managing legal entity tax obligations, transfer pricing, treasury services, debt collection, insurance, customs procedures, and relationships with public bodies, third parties, and the Supervisory Board.
Must have:
  • Professional Accounting Qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, MBA)

Site Finance Director

About the role:

This role will manage 1 site located in Aprilia (Italy), with an operating headcount (total LE) of 600+.

The FD will be the face of Finance at a local site level which is a key strategic site within the overall Haleon network.

The core objective of the FD role is to contribute to high level, strategic discussions while also bringing a hands-on, operational approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, manages, and develops the sites’ finance staff to ensure an uninterrupted and efficient accounting operation.

  • Accountable for all statutory and corporate financial statements, reports and analysis for the site. Liaise with external and internal auditors, tax and legal advisors, providing all necessary information and process support. Responsible for management and results of local annual audit.

  • Operate as Board member for the Aprilia Legal Entity.

  • Directs and participates in the annual plant budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, ensuring compliance to timetables and procedures.

  • Partner with Site Director/LT in building & executing the strategic vision of the site, ensuring business cases are aligned to Haleon goals.

  • Directs the development of accurate product costing and variance reporting, implementing improvements to reporting and systems as required.

  • Participate as an integral part of the Site Leadership Team, providing financial analyses, evaluations, decision making insights and interpretations on all aspects of manufacturing operations. Initiates meetings with manufacturing management to drive financial performance, resolve cost problems and recommends cost management concepts, methods, and procedures to facilitate operational controls.

  • Establishes and maintains effective internal control procedures and systems, including compliance monitoring in accordance with corporate policies and GAAP.

  • Review and control of plant capital asset requests and preparation/validation of associated financial analysis.

  • Act as Finance lead on strategic projects such as new product development, capital investments, continuous improvement and other site initiatives as required.

  • Establish strong partnerships within the finance matrix organisations to ensure site goals & compliance objectives are maintained.

  • Support global transformation/improvement programs as relevant for the sites or finance function.

  • Manage all the Legal Entity tax obligations (e.g.: CIT/VAT liquidations and declarations, etc.) and the relationship with the Italian Tax Authorities (including tax audits, MAPA, TP Documentation, etc.).

  • Supervise the calculation of transfer prices and the eventual adjustments during the year.

  • Manage the local treasury service, taking care of the relationships with credit institutions and  banking institutions.

  • Manage the debt collection service.

  • Manage the Legal Entity insurance coverages (e.g.: goods, company assets, etc.).

  • Manage all procedures and formalities with customs (e.g.: accept the return of customs duties, taxes, duties and other duties and issue receipts, carry out all acts related to import and export operations by signing those documents that will be requested by the competent authorities’ offices, etc.).

  • Accept notifications on behalf of the Legal Entity from any public body and administration.

  • Maintain the contractual relationships with third parties, relevant for the finance sector and necessary to achieve the relevant objectives.

  • Manage the relationship with the Supervisory Board (ODV) of the Legal Entity for all the finance related topics.

Requirements

  • Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, MBA)

  • Experience working in the Finance function in a global organisation  

  • Proficient financial knowledge of modelling, analysis, evaluation, and forecasting

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and across a matrixed environment

  • Good interpersonal skills demonstrated by creation of a network of key partners within Finance

  • and the business and the ability to bridge communications gap between finance and non-finance

  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks within a project using project management skills
