The Technical Product Manager will be responsible for managing the Hardware roadmap for QNX products, including the QNX Operating System and QNX Hypervisor. This role involves collaborating with BSP engineering teams for compatibility, performance optimization, and feature enablement. Responsibilities include driving requirements gathering, performing market and customer needs analysis, partnering with OEMs and silicon vendors, analyzing product-related data, coordinating go-to-market strategies, and articulating the value proposition to customers and partners. The candidate should have a strong technical background and experience in product management within automotive or embedded systems, and a proven ability to lead products throughout the entire product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing customer and market requirements, defining and evangelizing the product roadmap and vision, and working closely with engineering and customers on an ongoing basis to deliver winning products.
Must have:
  • Product Management experience.
  • Recent embedded experience with ARM or x86-based embedded hardware and/or software.
  • Experience with electronic systems and/or other embedded devices.
  • Embedded software development with C, C++.
  • Influencing skills to align people on a common vision.
  • Ability to engage with automotive and embedded customers.
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of functional safety or cybersecurity standards such as ISO 21434, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, etc.

We are looking for a Technical Product Manager to work with the QNX OS and Virtualization product management team on roadmap and strategy across various QNX products and services.

You must possess a strong technical background and have recent experience with automotive or embedded systems, or in a technical product management capacity.

This role encompasses both product management and product marketing responsibilities. This includes leading products throughout the entire product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing customer and market requirements, defining and evangelizing the product roadmap and vision, and working closely with engineering and customers on an ongoing basis to deliver winning products.

You will:

  • Help manage the Hardware roadmap for all QNX products including but not limited to the QNX Operating System and QNX Hypervisor.
  • Collaborate with BSP engineering teams to ensure QNX product compatibility, performance optimization, and feature enablement across various hardware devices.
  • Drive requirements gathering, prioritization, and execution for hardware-related OS features (e.g., power management, drivers, firmware updates).
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to perform market and customer needs analysis to develop market opportunity assessments and business model proposals.
  • Partner with OEMs and silicon vendors to support hardware bring-up and certification processes.
  • Lead and support the analysis of product related data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct detailed win-loss analysis to understand customer decision-making and competitive positioning.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
  • Coordinate go-to-market strategies, product launches, and lifecycle management in collaboration with marketing and sales teams.
  • Articulate and foster the value proposition for our QNX products and services to customers and key external partners.
  • Develop marketing enablement tools such as white papers, presentations, competitive analysis, and content to support the selling process.
  • Be a prime for webinars, tradeshows, customer / prospect meetings and other outbound events

You will have:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent technical degree, diploma or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in Product Management.
  • Recent embedded experience with ARM or x86-based embedded hardware and/or software.
  • Experience with electronic systems and/or other embedded devices.
  • Proven Embedded software development with C, C++.
  • The desire to learn and embrace new knowledge.
  • Influencing skills to align people on a common vision.
  • The ability to successfully engage with automotive and general embedded customers at an engineering and business level.
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

Additional assets:

  • Knowledge and experience with functional safety or cybersecurity standards such as ISO 21434, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, etc.
