Job Description

The Social Media Analyst will analyze data from social media campaigns across various platforms, conduct social listening, and provide data-driven insights to support social strategies. The role focuses primarily on organic campaigns but may occasionally involve paid media. Responsibilities include reviewing campaign performance, producing and analyzing metrics, building dashboards, identifying audience targets, researching trends, and making recommendations for engagement. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience in social media analytics, particularly within the entertainment industry, and excels in communication, analytics, leadership, and business acumen. The role requires strong understanding of social networks and digital advertising, and experience with creative storytelling and data analysis.

Role overview

The Social Media Analyst our team needs will be responsible for analyzing data from social media campaigns across various platforms and tools, conducting social listening analyses to provide data-driven insights that support social strategies. Focusing primarily on organic social media campaigns, this role may occasionally involve working with paid media. The ideal candidate is an expert in social media insights, dedicated to understanding what resonates with users, drives conversion and retention, and builds brand trust.

What are we looking for? Our Senior Social Media Analyst has a knack for the following skills:

Communication:

  • Takes data and observations and uses them to construct detailed reports and visual presentations.
  • Collaborates closely with the accounts, strategy, partnerships, and creative teams to support their work with data-driven insights.

Analytics:

  • Reviews social media campaign performance and produces, visualizes, and analyzes metrics to make recommendations.
  • Dives into user engagement and conversion data to determine the effectiveness of copy and community management tactics.
  • Builds out dashboards that lead to effective campaign reporting and tactical learnings based on social media campaign objectives.
  • Develops a strong understanding of project-based audience targets and how we can tap into them.

Leadership:

  • Helps source and identify social media trends and makes suggestions on how they can be applied to campaigns.
  • Researches online fan communities and makes recommendations on how to best engage.

Business:

  • Analyzes campaign data to identify opportunities for optimization, ensuring social media strategies align with business goals and drive measurable results.
  • Leverages insights from social media performance to inform business decisions, helping to shape future strategies and improve overall campaign effectiveness.

You'd be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • 2+ years of experience in a social media analytics role.
  • Previous experience working on social media campaigns in the entertainment industry.
  • Strong understanding of social networks, their functionalities, and the digital advertising landscape.
  • Ability to provide examples of leveraging social media analytics to optimize and boost campaign performance.
  • Exceptional project management skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience with creative storytelling, synthesizing channel insights, and the ability to bring consumer data to life for marketing stakeholders.
  • Experience conducting data analysis including data cleanup & normalization, and developing insights and strategic recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Experience in a digital media agency environment is highly preferred.
  • Availability to work between 9am and 6pm PST
