We’re looking to hire a Sr. Internal Communications Specialist for a global financial services client to enhance messaging across one of the most dynamic and innovative areas in the sector. This role requires a blend of creativity and analytical thinking to advise and influence senior executives in a global business environment. The ideal candidate will operate at both strategic and tactical levels, ensuring cohesive and compelling messaging that supports multiple business leaders.
This role demands exceptional collaboration skills, requiring close coordination with senior product leaders, product marketing teams, legal, PR, media, compliance, sales, and other essential business functions to ensure impactful messaging across diverse internal and external platforms.
This is a six-month project opportunity located in New York, NY or Chicago, IL on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic communications for multiple executives within the business unit, including town halls, talking points, crisis communications, blogs, and other materials aligned with business objectives.
- Contribute to internal communication channels, such as intranet updates and newsletters, ensuring clarity and consistency in messaging.
- Craft compelling content that conveys key messages in a clear and engaging voice.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics to assess communication effectiveness.
- Manage end-to-end communications projects and initiatives to support business needs.
- Collaborate with global Internal Communications teams to align with overarching goals and implement effective communication strategies.
- Coordinate with Corporate Communications and regional teams to ensure global consistency in messaging.
Requirements:
- 12+ years of experience in Marketing & Communications, preferably in Corporate Communications within financial services.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, with strong editing expertise and digital communication knowledge.
- Proven ability to lead, influence, and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Strong stakeholder management experience, ensuring alignment across multiple business units.
- Outstanding organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to handle high-priority initiatives.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards in risk, compliance, and ethical conduct.
- Demonstrates independence, integrity, and respect for diverse perspectives, while taking ownership of responsibilities.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours based on business needs.
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or Journalism (preferred).
- Solid understanding of the financial services industry and its communication strategies.
- Expertise in corporate internal and employee communications, including best practices and execution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with additional skills in Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, and HTML as a plus.
