Job Description

The Sr. Manager of Accounting, Royalties will lead the day-to-day accounting of royalties globally, partner with business operations and finance business partners, and lead continuous improvement efforts across royalty systems. This role involves providing support and analysis to executive management, acting as a key liaison to external auditors, and leading royalty audits. The role requires building relationships, providing timely assistance, and completing ad hoc projects. The candidate will work in a hybrid role, requiring onsite presence 3 days a week in Pawtucket, RI. This person will be driven, innovative, and have a strong work ethic.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • 7-10 years of hands-on experience in accounting and finance roles
  • Minimum 5 years public accounting experience and/or public company experience
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
Good to have:
  • Certified Public Accountant designation is preferred
  • Big 4 experience preferred
  • Demonstrated success in the development of staff

We have an opportunity for a Sr. Accounting Manager to join our Accounting Royalties team! Reporting to the Sr. Director of Accounting, Royalties, the Sr. Manager of Accounting, Royalties is a highly visible role, supporting accounting, finance and business operations as part of a growing portion of the Company’s business. Success in this role requires being driven and innovative, with a strong work ethic and a leadership style characterized by a straightforward style, approachability, a team orientation, and collaboration!

 

This is a hybrid role and requires the ability to work onsite in our Pawtucket, RI office 3 days per week.

 

A day in the life of the Sr. Manager of Accounting, Royalties:

  • Lead the day-to-day accounting of royalties globally across Hasbro.
  • Partner with business operations and finance business partners to ensure royalty accounting is aligned to business and operational needs.
  • Lead continuous improvement and modernization efforts across royalty system and business process to ensure an efficient system and business processes.
  • Provide overall support and analysis to executive management by investigating accounting questions, issues, and judgments and by partnering with team members from other business divisions to assist with accounting questions.
  • Act as a key liaison to the external auditors to assist in their completion of an efficient audit.
  • Lead the successful completion of royalty audits with third party customers and vendors.
  • Build relationships and regular communication with operational leaders to provide direct and timely assistance on matters that have accounting and reporting implications.
  • Complete ad hoc projects assigned by senior management, including analysis of business operations, proposed accounting treatment, or other accounting and finance-related matters. 

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, Certified Public Accountant designation is preferred.
  • 7-10 years of hands-on experience in accounting and finance roles of increasing responsibility.
  • Minimum 5 years public accounting experience and/or public company experience. Big 4 experience preferred.
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and meet deadlines.
  • Reviews performance and progress on a regular basis to ensure the team is achieving results.
  • Demonstrated success in the development of staff and others toward improved skills, independence, and self-initiative.
  • Ability to earn trust and credibility within the organization, and capable of developing effective business relationships with all members of the company’s senior leadership team.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to make sound business decisions.

Compensation Range, Currency USD:

  • Starting Pay Range:  $108,400
  • Pay Range End:   $162,600
