About the job
Company Overview
At Zuora, we do Modern Business. We’re helping people subscribe to new ways of doing business that are better for people, companies and ultimately the planet. It’s an approach resulting from the shift to the Subscription Economy that puts customers first by building recurring relationships instead of one-time product sales and focuses on sustainable growth. Through our leading expertise and multi-product suite, we are transforming all industries and working with the world’s most innovative companies to monetize new business models, nurture subscriber relationships and optimize their digital experiences.
The Team & Role
As part of Zuora’s Design team, you will work with a tight knit group of passionate UX professionals. Day-to-day, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining parts of Zuora’s SaaS application, applying attention to usability and accessibility. Zuora’s software provides powerful and flexible solutions to large enterprises, so we need really talented designers who can craft easy-to-use experiences without sacrificing the inherent complexity of our customer’s use cases.
The Design team is also super ambitious, and we build detailed, bespoke components, rich with interactions and animations; so the successful candidate should be very creative with a strong eye for aesthetics.
Zuora’s Designers support several product teams, with a range of applications, but there will be a special focus for this role on Zuora’s Togai product line: a recent acquisition for the company. Togai is the product that Zuora offers to developers to ingest and meter their usage data, for consumption billing use cases. An interest in how to expose data to users in a simple, easy to understand way is desirable.
What you’ll do
- Understand customer needs, pain points, and behaviors related to Zuora’s products, especially metering, rating and usage-based billing in a B2B environment
- Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and high-fidelity designs in Figma or UXPin
- Work directly with engineers and product managers to ensure design solutions are feasible, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.
- Work within (and contribute to) Zuora’s design system and component library.
- Iterate on designs based on feedback from stakeholders and data analysis to continually improve the user experience.
Your experience
- Strong empathy for users and a deep understanding of user-centered design methodologies
- Ability to analyze complex problems and translate them into elegant design solutions.
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design process, problem-solving skills, and successful projects related to B2B SaaS
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate and defend design decisions effectively
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency in design tools (Figma, ideally) with a solid understanding of UX/UI principles and best practices
- Similar to typical job “Requirements or Qualifications” we focus on the type of person you’re looking for and the core skills a candidate needs to be successful in the role and at Zuora. Clearly, settle on your “must have” and “nice to have” qualifications - too many requirements may dissuade potentially great candidates from applying so keep the list concise.
