Position Overview

The Game Designer with expertise in Unreal Engine (UE) Blueprints will play a crucial role in the development of our project. This position requires a strong understanding of game design principles, a deep familiarity with UE Blueprints, and the ability to translate complex design concepts into functional game systems. The ideal candidate will be passionate about game mechanics and system design, with a focus on creating engaging and immersive gameplay experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Blueprint Development: Design, implement, and maintain gameplay systems and mechanics using Unreal Engine Blueprints, ensuring they align with the overall design vision of the project.
  • Gameplay Design: Collaborate with the design team to develop innovative gameplay mechanics, including combat systems, AI behaviors, and interactive environments that enhance player engagement.
  • Prototyping: Create and iterate on prototypes to quickly test and refine new ideas and features, ensuring they meet gameplay and performance goals.
  • Documentation: Produce clear and detailed design documents that communicate the functionality and flow of gameplay systems to the development team.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with artists, programmers, and other designers to integrate assets and ensure that gameplay mechanics function seamlessly within the game world.
  • Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks related to Blueprint scripting, ensuring that gameplay remains smooth and responsive across all target platforms.
  • Testing & Iteration: Participate in playtesting sessions, gather feedback, and iterate on designs to improve the player experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in game design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating hands-on experience with Unreal Engine Blueprints. Experience in designing systems for action-oriented or wuxia-themed games is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Unreal Engine, specifically with Blueprints. Strong understanding of game mechanics, systems design, and interactive storytelling.
  • Design Skills: Ability to conceptualize and implement complex game systems that are fun, balanced, and aligned with the game’s narrative and artistic vision.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical and design challenges within Blueprint systems.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design ideas and technical specifications to team members.

Salary Range

$80,000 - $110,000 per year Salary is commensurate with experience and includes potential bonuses based on project milestones and performance.
