Job Description

PlayStation Studios XDEV seeks a Technical Producer to provide technical support and guidance to production teams and external development partners. Responsibilities include tracking technical designs and issues, long-term planning and maintenance of XDEV titles and services, driving consensus on technical decisions, managing technical risks, and supporting workflow improvements. The role requires deep knowledge of PlayStation platform technologies, strong communication skills, and experience collaborating with various teams. Experience in AAA console game production and fluency in Japanese and English are essential.
Must have:
  • Project management experience in large-scale software development (collaborating with engineers)
  • Collaboration with producers, developers, testers across multiple studios
  • Fluent Japanese and English (verbal and written)
  • Passion for home consoles
Good to have:
  • AAA console game technical management/engineering experience
  • Understanding of Agile and general software development practices
  • Knowledge of system integration, version control, platform SDKs
  • Experience with operating systems, network technologies, cloud platforms
  • Familiarity with C++, Go, or Python

役割概要 

ゲーム制作における技術的な課題を理解し、解決することができるコミュニケーション能力の高い方を求めています。 

シニアプロデューサーの直属となり、XDEV制作チームおよび外部開発パートナーへの技術サポートのほか、専門知識を用いてさまざまなアドバイスを行います。PlayStationプラットフォームの技術に関する深い知識を身につけることが期待され、複雑な問題やコンセプトを、技術的な理解度の異なるオーディエンスに伝えることが求められます。 
 

具体的な仕事内容 

  •  XDEV内における技術面での担当者、部門窓口 
  • XDEVプロジェクトの技術設計や問題点を追跡し、その解決を支援する 
  • プロジェクトのシニアプロデューサーと連携し、XDEVタイトルおよびゲームサービスの長期的なプランニングと保守を行う 
  •  ビジネス要件を満たすための技術的な決定を纏める 
  • XDEVタイトルに関する技術的なリスクを管理する。 
  • 内部および外部のワークフローの改善や生産効率の最適化をサポートする 

求める人材

【必須要件】

  • 大規模なソフトウェア開発などのプロジェクトマネジメント経験 (エンジニアと協業するプロジェクトの経験)
  • 複数のスタジオやプロジェクトにおいて、様々なプロデューサー、開発者、テスターと協働できる能力
  • 日本語と英語の高い語学力(口頭ではFluentおよび書面でのコミュニケーション)
  • 家庭用ゲーム機に対する強い関心とより深い興味

  • AAAコンソールゲーム制作におけるテクニカルマネージャーまたはエンジニアとしての実務経験
  • アジャイルを含む一般的なソフトウェア開発プラクティスの理解
  • システム統合とバージョン管理に関する十分な知識と理解
  • プラットフォームSDKおよび技術文書の使用経験
  • オペレーティングシステム、最新のネットワーク/インターネット技術、クラウドプラットフォームの経験
  • プログラミングやスクリプト言語(C++、Go、Pythonなど)に精通していること

XDEV is the PlayStation Studios
production team working with outside studios around the world with high aspirations and technical capabilities. 

XDEV(External Development) is a global team that is responsible for the latest PS5 exclusive Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin and DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR’S CUT. With multiple offices in Japan, US, and Europe, XDEV’s global mission is to “partner with independent studios around the world to create award-winning, exclusive PlayStation titles”.

Role overview: 

We are looking for a strong communicator who understands all areas of game production and the technical challenges associated with them. 

You will be reporting to a Senior Producer and will provide technical support, expertise and guidance to the XDEV production teams and their external development partners. You will be expected to develop a deep knowledge of the PlayStation platform technologies. You should be able to communicate complex issues and concepts to audiences with differing levels of technical understanding. 

What you'll be doing: 

  • Technical representative within the department 
  • Tracking of technical designs and issues across XDEV projects and supporting their resolutions. 
  • Long term planning and maintenance of XDEV titles and game services in coordination with the project’s Senior Producer 
  • Drive consensus on technical decisions to satisfy business requirements. 
  • Provide technical Risk management for XDEV titles 
  • Support internal and external workflow improvements and production optimizations 

 

What we're looking for:

  • Must have professional experience as a technical manager or engineer in a AAA console videogame production. 
  • Language proficiency for both Japanese and English (verbal and written communication) 
  • Knowledge of project management methods and software packages 
  • Good understanding of general software development practices including Agile 
  • Good knowledge and understanding of system integration and version control. 
  • Experience working with platform SDKs and technical documentation. 
  • Strong ability to work with various producers, developers and testers across multiple studios and projects. 
  • Experience in operating Systems, modern network / internet technologies and cloud platforms 
  • Familiarity with programming and/or scripting languages (e.g. C++, Go, Python).
